Turbo Charging an 03 P5 Manual Trans

i would say trade for a 5 speed...ill be doing this later this year most likely, theres too much risk of blowin the tranny. plus with a 5 speed you can run a hell of a lot more boost

The way I see it is boost your auto and have fun then buy a better car when you have the money. Even if you go manual, just because the tranny can hold more doesn't mean the motor can. The you have to spend all this money to forge your motor and in the long run it's not worth it.

You do know that we have a nifty search feature here, and that there is an ongoing thread about boosting an Auto stickied at the top of the forced induction forum.

Yeah, you know that.

I would not go turbo if $2500 was all I had.

I would invest in suspension and wheels. That is all. Maybe some other tasteful cosmetic mods (like JDM tails).

You will need more than 2500. You will need to get fuel management system and intercooler to have a reliable kit and car.
We have customers running our kit in automatics for over 2 years without any problems. They have kept the boost at 8 psi MAX and around 185 whp. Getting the valve bodies is the best you can do to the tranny.

If you want to go turbo, do it right since the beginning or don't do it at all. You will end up spending more money and time doing this by stages, but still you need at least the fuel managent system.

We carry the kits in stock and the price is $3,800.00 with everything needed for a bolt on installation.

I talked to you guy's yesterday and you guy's have the best sounding kit so far
but for $3800 I think I might just put some WedsSport SA-70's w/ new rubber
and a new carbon Hood and wait to buy the Evo8 MR, I drove one last night
AND MAN IS THAT A FAAAAASSSTTT F**ing!!! CAR! Good God.

Here is something to consider, the cost of car payment and insurance Vs. Evo. Look at what it would cost to pump up your car. I figure, unless your listing your turbo, your insurance will be hella cheaper. I would also mention Evo's would probably be high targets for theft. Unless what they are saying though. Get the Turbo book by Corkey and plan. You will want better brakes, tires for traction, suspension, engine management, stuff for tranny. If not the valve body stuff, at least get a tranny cooler ($40). The stock is just the bottom part to the radiator! The cool thing is I think they have a limited slip for the auto. The evo is also heavier. So will a lil work you could be faster. Well enough ranting. Just make sure you got money to replace the motor/tranny if need or have a daily driver just in case.

Hi,

Don't mean to thread-jack, but what do you do to the suspension to handle the boost? With the stock motor and MTX, we have a ton of wheel hop as it is. I can't imagine the stock suspension handling another 100hp. Checked out your site, didn't see any mention of it there.
