sorry typo "educate me"....

is it gonna make me faster?

what do I need to have it complete? (ex: does any boost controller work...)

is it a hard install?

is it an expensive mod?

what are the down effects?

and could it cause problems for my in the winter?

thanks~

Im looking to to get a bit quicker, i was told although it doesn’t add HP it does make you quicker. Or so I’ve heard.

What exactly are you referring to? Using some sort of MBC?

Sorry, I don't really follow what you're asking.

sorry, i want to get a turbo boost controler, but dont know what it does, how much it should cost and if its worth it... i need you guys to help me out...

A boost controller allows you to increase the amount of boost that you're running. More boost = more power. You need some way to be able to tune it though because without a tune, more boost usually equals leaner a/f ratios. It seems that you have a lot to learn so I would do some searching around and research.

after doing a tune, im guessing they need to do it with a guage to see when my car is at its highest boost? and when the tune is done, is it safe to drive with it on all the time? or is it something i can turn on off when i race?

i agree i need to do my homework. in the end i just want my car to go faster...

thank you!

You need to look elsewhere. Going with any kind of boost control that isn't tied to the ECU is a big no-no with our cars. Spend the money on an AP or the Standback and a tune and your car will run so much better. Not to mention the safety factor that is there vs. running some sort of BC.

without knowing what it does, how/why do you know you want one.

I don't mean to come off as a jerk, but I think you need to learn an awful lot more before you think about tinkering with your car, otherwise you may soon join the "zoom zoom boom" club. Its very elite, and entry into the club is cheap but dues are very expensive once you've joined.

+1 to this. Don't buy something unless you're prepared for the consequences. Search is your friend.

thats what im afraid of lol.... you guys are 100% right, but that why im callin on you guys to help me out.

whats an AP, standback??? and where do i get a tune?

guys honestly i just want to feel a bit faster in the my ms6 without spending thousands of dollars...

thanks for looking out guys, I would never buy somthing 4 my car with knowing what it does.

Buy a Cobb Ap, you can download tunes according to your mods online. This is what you are looking for, it can increase your performance with a little more peace of mind and doesn't require a great amount of technical skill. If you want to know more about the Cobb Ap just search it, theres ten thousand threads on it or I'm sure a couple members in here that own it would be more than willing to help you more with it.

Snooky, I'm surprised for being a section mod that you haven't read up on these things. Easily some of the quickest and most cost effective mods for the money. The AP is what you'll want, then you can get whichever tune you like and run with that.

I know, but to be honest i was never really good with engine stuff... but once i learn how it works and how its applied i pick it up real quick.

im gonna do a search of the AP, and hopefully thats the mod for me. is it a hard thing to install? and do I need the AP to do the tune?

Thanks again guys!

im gonna do my reaserch, and ill keep you posted... does n e body here have it in there MS6? if so please give it to me straight, pros and cons...

thanks

obviously no MS6, but pros: runs better, more power, better fuel econ. cons: have to change your map for every mod, and its not cheap.

that about cover it? someone who actually has either an MS6/AP back me up plz! lol

The Cobb AccessPort (AP) is an extremely user-friendly gateway/device into your car's ECU. It comes preloaded with maps that give a small degree of customization to your tune. You can also download Cobb's other maps online to give you a little more flexibility.

The AccessPort is a handheld device that uses a OBD-II port plug and a USB cable to plug into your car's ECU. You also use the USB cable and the device to plug it directly into your computer if you are going to download more maps. In addition to all of this, there is also a free, downloadable computer program called AccessTuner RACE (ATR) that gives the end-user the ability to develop his or her own maps. ATR is for experienced tuners and you use it at your own risk.

what are you current mods snooky?

currently I have basic bolt ons: Fujita CAI, TurboXS BOV, SU down-pipe, rear engine mount, sprint booster. thats pretty much it off the top of my head in terms of performance mods.

I looked into the Cobb AP, its more expensive than i thought!

you know its really frustrating I want more power but the next steps are huge loads of cash...

it might sound stupid by i cant get it out of my head that my car feels slower...

Ill say that the mods that really made me feel a difference were fixing the clutch making it easier to shift and the sprint booster but they down add HP. besides the AP, i can get a booster controller, P n P chip, new turbo, new exhaust... each costing over $500 give or take.

cant we find a way to have our cake and eat it too?!?
