TSB help

I'm taking my '14 CX-5 in for the first service appointment next weekend and while I'm there I want to have them address 2 issues: the driver's side mirror that shakes and the faulty Bluetooth unit (just happened today on a road trip! Ugh - basically BT/Pandora/USB all greyed out and unusable). Sounds like both are known issues and owners are having parts replaced. I called the service and parts department in advance so I wouldn't have to wait for the parts to be delivered, and they told me that for the mirror they just do a "re-install" and for BT they will do a hard re-set (disconnecting the battery). This sounds like BS to me. Anyone else have a similar issue/experience??

There is a kit to fix the mirror shake. Don't know what re-install means? Find the TSB to make sure you get upgrade kit installed. You are lucky if your USB did fail. There is a new USB board that fixes the awful USB problems everyone complains about. They won't replace the USB with the improved version unless its is dead. If you get a new USB board, let us know how well it works. Good luck to you.

They're not going to replace parts just because. They have to troubleshoot first. It's annoying and all but they need to do the easy stuff first before the hard stuff.

I tried doing the same thing for the mirror shake and hood shake. They said they had to see the car and verify the claims first. But once they confirmed the symptoms and they were known issues, they just went ahead and performed the TSB's. Since the car had to stay overnight, my dealer provided a loaner car and all fixes were covered by the warranty. Try insisting on getting a loaner car so you don't have to wait at the dealer.

The bluetooth is correct. They unplug battery and it should reset and work.
If it doesn't work, then BT module needs to be replaced. That's what the TSB says.
So you can do this yourself at home. If it's dead, it's dead and they will verify and order BT module.

just to update - the dealership called me a couple days ago and said they had 4 or 5 CX-5's come in with the exact same problem. Tried doing the hard reset for each and it didn't work, so they are replacing them. Just ordered the part and will have it replaced this Saturday,
