I've tried putting my fingernail in the bushing and it won't dent to save my life...is there another method to checking if you have poly or delrin? This thing vibrates the hell out of the car, so much that something is buzzin around the glovebox or center console don't know which one yet. Anybody know how to check it?

Thanks.

i answered this in a PM but for the rest of you....
the poly has a dull flat bushing, and the delrin has more of a glossy finish and there is sort of a tapered rim right around the center sleeve.

poly mount.......

delrin mount..... this is an old version that used a differenr flange, but the bushing section is the same........

If you got the Poly, it will smooth out slightly... The roughness will smooth out...you just have to drive the car for 500mi-1000mi making the mount work to break it in.

I had the same reaction when I installed mine... I was going to go back to stock, but I gave it time and after 1K mi, I was a happy camper... I still have vibes, but not as bad as when it was new...

Yeah that thing is buzzing the whole car and I already sold my corksport inserts Hope I don't have to go and play find the noise.

u would have to jack the car up and look at the mount, pull the mount out with a friend and look at it...only way to tell really...

It seems to have settled down quite a bit It's 18 degrees here so when it gets warmer I'm sure it'll be better but my damn parking brake rattles, driving me nuts.

I've heard of other forum members having the same issue with cold weather... You'll have to wait till the spring or summer for it to soften up...

I did notice mine gets slightly rougher in cooler temps (30* versus 80-90*).

Mine is the Delrin. It only vibrates at idle (sometimes) and when I take off.

It is, however, clackety sometimes, and I want to look into this because it bugs the living s*** out of me. It's almost like it's just not wide enough, so it slides on the bolt.

As tight as I could with a 1/2" ratchet while on my back under the car. I didn't bother using my torque wrench. I rechecked and it hasn't loosened.

To fix the clackety I put some epoxy on the outside of the metal inner bushing then slid it back into place inside of the delrin outer bushing. Fixed the clackety up real nice, and reduced the vibs during idle and takeoff, though they are still there they are significantly reducified.

As far as torque-ing it goes, just put some loctite on the bolt threads and hand-tighten it and you should be just fine.

Wonder if i put some silicon grease in there is that would work. That ahould be waterproof and I can re lube every once in a while.

it might but I doubt it will last. My first attempt at this I went totally ghetto and used some duct tape, just a thin strip was enough to "set" the inner metal bushing so it didn't wobble back and forth, and it worked amazing for about 2 days then it deteriorated / flattened and I was back to the beginning, so I ended up going with epoxy.

If nothing else, the grease will give you a good indication of whether or not this will fix your problem without permanently bonding the inner bushing to the delrin bushing.

I used blue loctite and i tightend mine as hard as i could by hand. I duno y u guys are using wierd epoxy and stuff...

I believe half the people are talking about one problem, the other half are talking about the solution to a dif problem

the epoxy/duct tape was for some of the delrin models where the sleeve was loose in the bushing, whereas the locktite is to keep the bolts from vibration loose

if i didnt use locktite or anything do u think ill have a problem???? i tighetened it pretty tight but didnt use anything. i got the poly and personally i love the vibs it feels like im driving a beast haha. the power is well worth it and i dont think its that bad. i tightened the frame bolt before the tranny bolt so maybe that helpeed idk
