Trying to find this part

Novice here, so I will apologize in advance for anything noobish I might say...

I've been searching forever for a part for my 01 Protege, but I am at complete loss for what it's called exactly. I'm not even sure this is meant to be in the appearance forums, but it does constitute more as appearance than a mod.

I'm having trouble finding what this thing is called, I've seached "console" "automatic bezel" "automatic console" and just about everything under the sun. (I even tore my owners manual apart, but to no avail)

Here is a picture (which I added a picture of what my actual part looks like on the left side) of the part that I've been trying to hunt down forever now.

If anyone more experienced than me could point me in the right direction with a name to this little bugger, I'd be grateful forever!

Note: I've also had no luck with trying to find a replacement in a local junkyard, apparently no one has needed to junk a Protege. Go Mazda!

Oddly, the parts diagram I have doesn't show that part for the automatic '01-'03 Protege. The part for the '99-'00 is called a "shift indicator," and it's more than just the little piece that's broken in your car. I've attached a jpg of the '99-'00 showing the part. It might be the same as the shift indicator in the '01-'03 Protege.

You can show your car to any Mazda dealership and they can tell you the part number and how much it costs.

Your best bet is ebay (search "protege shifter"). This isn't the right color for your beige interior, but you might be able to take off what you need:

Otherwise, a beige shifter assembly will eventually be listed on ebay.

I have a 2000 Pro,got a second shifter bezel(that's the name of it) from a local junk yard in miami.
You may want to try your local j. yard.

Actually,i messed up the drive plate, tried to get rid of the ygly green tint on it and end up scratching it..when i went to the junk yard, got another shifter bezel with the drive plate.
Put a red plastic tab(the ones u use on file folders)and worked perfect.
I know that has nothing to do of what you are asking here, but if you are replacing the d. plate and you've been thinking of getting rid of the ugly green i'll suggest you do it now anyways.
Good luck in your find.(cool)
