Truth about motor mounts

I have been debating on getting motor mounts. From what I have gathered from other people is they help hold the engine tighter to reduce wheel hop. Is this the only purpose for them or do they help in other areas? Any info is helpful.

Well..with stiffer mounts..there's less engine movement hence you'll feel a better response from cornering and braking, wheel hop is almost none, acceleration is improved.

^^^ What he said. I went to the drag strip last night, and had a hell of a problem with wheel hop in first gear. I think my rear motor mount is wearing out because I have a stiffer front motor mount in. But yeah, if you want to do any drag racing with the car, or just hard accel from a stop, I would get the motor mounts.

Ever try to drive in rush hour traffic? Before motor mounts 1st and 2nd gear idling was terrible if you touched the gas at all. The motor thrashed in the engine bay. 3rd gear was uncomfortable but not painful.

After the mounts 1st gear is still bad but it is in every car I've driven. 2nd gear is much better.

The car is now comfortable enough that my wife doesn't get a headache when revving below 2k.

AWR is making 70 durometer mm's now. They're the softest available, but I'd recommend'em if doing both front and rears. I'm doing all 4 - front, rear, and sides. That is, if Street Unit ever gets around to getting'em in stock and setting a price :)
