well i tried to trade my car in today but came to find out my car is only worth $7000. its 2003 with 33,xxx miles my pay off is par with the trade in value with a 2003 MSP BUT, the car was wrecked last year and it showed on carfax that that caused the car to be only worth $7000

R title means the vehicle was either totalled and rebuilt, or theft but recovoered...it lowers the price of the veh by almost half...that would explain the low ball price...even a wrecked car shouldnt depriacte that much so long as it has been replaced within factory specs

wow, that sucks but that may help my case of getting my car totalled. if you could please PM me details on the damage, repairs, pictures of the damage etc I'd greatly appreciate it! I didn't realize it'd depreciate so much!

ooh man that sucks i thiking it was totaled but my insurnce did not want to pay me the whole 21k back so they tld the shop to fix it anyway let me see if i have a pic some where

that sucks....sorry to hear that. at least you don't own more than the trade in value if you do trade it in. i am sure you were expecting a gain on the trade in though.

its prolly a R title.

funny somewhat related story. in PA our plates are blue, yellow, and white. this guy had this 97 mustang cobra garaged, 78 miles only on it...his wife told him to sell it, so he brings it to my dealership.

problem is, in PA you can get a 'custom car' plate, which is black, which he did to match his black cobra - but the catch is the custom plate exempts you from all inspections because it means you have modded your car so much that it is technically illegal, and makes the title a "R", thereby making his 78 mile cobra worth just a shy over 13k. he sued the tag agency for not telling him that ahead of time.

dont know if he ever won or not though.

you cant do that lol. somewhere he probably opted to keep the vehicle..im sure the ins company wouldnt have rather had the car fixed, thats the point of totalling a car, so that the ins co only has to pay what its worth...its silly to think they purposely paid more to have it fixed than just total it and pay it off.

is it to late to talk to insurance its was a year ago +/-
black 2005 SRT-4 was what i was trying to get.(peep) i was gonna get a really good deal on it. i am alo trying to buy my mom house so i was trying to lower my bills some SRT-4 would be cheeper on car payment and on insurance 325month (car) $200 month (ins.)
