Transmission swap from auto to 5-spd ?'s(MP5)

Tranny swap-auto to 5-spd Help(MP5)Parts

I want to know what parts i keep from the automatic tranny to use for the 5-spd.Where can i find all the parts for the manual transmission, should i ask the dealer? I am going to put a turbo on my 2.0 mp5 so i want an upgrade for the clutch.Should i just buy a new engine with the manual transmission on it?Can anyone help me out?

all that i can say is just get a donor car that has been totaled and swap piece by piece. there is so much that you need to swap over, that is the only way that i can tell you to do it.

Thanks, I'm guessing go to a junkyard and find a totalled mp5 and take everything from it?

I think that should work, although you could save yourself many hours of labor and sell your car for a manny-tranny version.

I wouldn't go there, if you are enjoying yourself than the time and effort are always worth it (or if you enjoy the sense of accomplishment). Who know, you might learn something.

However I have to agree;
1. there will be time spent (many hours)
2. this project will require effort

I've had a few friends try and tackle the auto to manual swap and every one of them has quit less than 1/2 way through, put everything back together, sold the car, and bought a manual version of the car. It's a lot of time/money.

I've never seen a full swap done, but I've been thinking about it for 3 yrs now and never had the balls/ time to do it so I'm cheating and buying a Lentech when my commision check comes.

I have too much time and money in this car already i'm not getting rid of it! It's kind of overwhelming with everything thats involved. I'm looking at the Hiboost turbo after the swap is done. Then i will take it to the track. Im just not sure a junkyard will have an entire tranny for me to swap it out with?

How long did it take? should i just go to the junkyard and get the whole tranny or get the list of parts and do it that way. How did u do it exactly? Help me in the right direction.

You should try to get a tranny from a person who you know or from a known location. Basically, it's going in your car and you don't need it to just last 5 min...

Manual Drive Shafts ( Diferent Spline )

ECU ( Manual Car )

Can i order these parts through the dealer, or from a car shop. None of my friends have a mazda so i can't get parts off of them. Can i get a clutch kit from http://apexr1.com/index.html , would that work for part of it? where could i find a tranny mount, would corksport have one or AWR?

You might as well just buy a Mazdaspeed Three.

The mount will not be bought at a shop. It will be at a yard.

Thanks for all your help, i apreciate it! This car will be out of service for the fall and winter with this swap and turbocharging!! I wil document everything with pictures and maybe video. I do have another question on suspension, whats the best racing suspension with a two inch drop for a mp5 (NOT lowering springs)?
