Just wanted to let yall know what happened, driving down the highway 80mph, whine on decel, went away on accel, first time ive ever heard it was this moment. i kept driving, about 2 minutes later kaboom, pulled over, had it towed home, put it on stands, saw the transfer case, went inside. I sent it into the shop, they replaced the t-case, the trans, and the driveshaft to the tune of 6k. 07 CX9 167k miles.

its in good shape, the interior is in great shape, it pulls my boat, the bose system still bumps, and my wife loves it. Its never broke down before, the only thing not currently operating correctly is the dvd screen, I would say its worth 6k.

hkp, what's the service history of the trans./transfer case/diff? Fluids changed at regular intervals (30k)? Ever been swapped under warranty? I ask because I'm curious, and your's is by far the highest mileage CX-9 i've seen reported on here. A lot of people were blowing transfer cases as early as 30k and frequently at 80-90k mi.

TBH, i scooped this thing at 90k and had no service history as it was purchased from a dealer. I never touch trans fluid in a car with high miles because it usually does more harm than good especially on a vehicle with "lifetime" fluids in their cases.
