Trailer Hitch - 2013 CX-9

I'm looking to get a trailer hitch for my 2013 CX-9.

In looking online, it looks like there are only two types available - the Draw-Tite/Hidden Hitch Class III or Curt Class III. They are both 2" receivers. Was hoping for 1 1/4", so I guess I'm out of luck there (I realize I can buy an adapter but didn't want to have to deal with that).

What tools are needed to install it? I've watched the videos of people installing them on a CX-9 and it looks like they're using some really big ratchet wrench. I've got a pneumatic impact wrench, but I'm guessing it will be too bulky to get in that small area. I've got a smaller ratchet, but nothing like what I've seen in the videos. How do ensure the tightness is "just right"?

Only Mazda dealer offers a 1 1/4" trailer for CX9.

To install, you will need a torque wrench. A cheap one can be had at Harbor Tools for $9.99.
I got one as a spare, and it works just fine.

It will be easier if you can find someone to hold it for you.

I have the factory hitch in my shed out back... if I go to Virginia this summer for a visit, wanna buy it? lol. I keep thinking about selling it because I can't ever see needing it again. We used it once to haul a uhaul trailer with a bunch of furniture.

We replaced the factory hitch and got the hidden hitch, which was for our 2008, but it was super easy to install. I don't know about 2013, but with ours, you had to cut the bumper to install the factory hitch. With hidden hitch, we wouldn't have had to.

I just transferred my Curt 2" receiver hitch from my 09' GT to my 13' GT and it actually looks better on the 13'. (2thumbs)
