my idea of depreciation is about 1k a yr .. that would mean that i would let go of my p5 (sunroof,6cd,33k) for about 12k after 2.4yrs of ownership

Same here...it's been paid off for well over a year now...why would I want to get myself into more payments when I have a perfectly good car for 0/month. Sure, the WRX is tempting, but I like my car too much to part with it.

I guess I'll be seeing you in the Benz Forums. I drive a 2005 Mercedes Benz AMG E55 and my Protege 5 is my daily driver. For some reason I like the way my Protege 5 drives compare to my E55. Anyway, congrats on your new Benz!

I've always had a soft spot for Mercedes, especially manuals. And especially since I feel stabbed in the back by the automotive division of BMW these days. At least Mercedes has always been basically what it is. (Yeah the whole Chrysler thing... I'm purposely ignoring that I know. )

he means the new designs of bmws are a little off kilter. i have to look at them all day...ugh. the z4 though isn't bad.
