track tomorrow 1/8 mile

Okay, as most of you know im hitting the knoxville dragway in my MSP tomorrow, I have some last miniute questions i need answered b4 i go.
Anyone know what the max torque RPM would be? its 1/8 mile so i should shift when the car reaches max torque correct anyone know what good shiftpoints would be?
Pls correct me if im wrong. This is going to be quite a learning experience.

you gotta be kidding me, boost doesnt actually kick in till just after 4000, what would be the point of even having turbo if max torque is 3800?

shift at 7000. Peak torque is 3800, peak HP is around 6000, you want to hit 3800rpm when you shift to maintain peak torque.

another thing that makes that not make sense

another thing that makes that not make sense, when im in a race, my rpm's never drop below 4k after i start. so id arleady be passed max torque.

The car is still making torque, over time it makes HP. The torque hits the maximum point at 3800rpm, from then on it slowly drops towards redline. When you shift you want to hit 3800-4000rpm to maintain acceleration. It's not likeyou hit 3800 rpm and the car stops....

I Say Redline Every GEar...It's A Short Race...You will Only Be able to get upto 3rd gear!!

ryan, shift at at least 6000 if not redline (but don't bounce it, waste of time), that way when the rpm drops down from the upshift it'll be right at the max torque rpm for the new gear.

DO NOT shift at 3800, you will drop way below the power band when you upshift.

I was told last week was the largest import gathering since that place was opened ... well ofer 400 cars !!!!! i was like HOLY s*** .. and they all wanted to it the track since the weather has been beautiful and today is hitting 80 Degrees so it will be packed again . and that is the time i was going to be there .. but i need to clean my car its nasty .. i cant show up looking like ass ... I spent 4 hours removing decals last night and started on my side moldings to . so are you in Knoxville now??? if so i am like 5 mins from you .. i am on Lovell rd right now at work ...

good luck .. thats all i can say .. because tonight that SRT BListered some serious ass .. and these dudes out here arent playin . I mean we got some civic hatches that are roasting supras and WRX's and others and that yellow SRT-4 pulled low low nines or really high eights i forget ..i was to much into watching Ryan running his MSP

It was a awesome experience

heres the results for my first time ever running a car in drag i dunno you tell me how'd i do?
Right lane BTW
10.79 1/8 mile i ran twice, my first was a 11.15 image below is of best run.
The first run was agianst a factory ford focus zx3 and i wheel hopped all through first gear i ran a 11.15 focus ran a 11.05 i think.
The Second run was agianst a modded VW Jetta 1.8t and the slip below is of that run, much better run no wheel up minimal wheel spin. i'll post pictures of this race soon as i get them from the digital camera

how the **** did the other guy get .365 reaction time? I thought .500 is the lowest you can go before redlighting?
