Toyo Proxes4

Thanks for opinions guys. I think I'm really leaning towards the Toyo's. I am also considering Khumo ECSTA ASX's...the decision may come down to price.

CanMP5 - keep us updated as the weather turns warmer.

Just shop around at least 4 places for prices. Tire's vary a good deal even at shops across the street from each other. Got my 4's for $73 each ($85 after mount&balance). To bad TireRack doesn't offer Toyo's.

$73, nice. Cheapest I've found was $88. For that cheap it'd be worth throwing a couple of sets up in the attic.

I just bought some after a massive screw in my stock Dunlops that couldn't be patched. I do have a question about the rim bar protector...is it noticeable? I can't really see mine. It's nothing like the pronounced one on the stock Dunlops. Did I get an older set? If I did, I'll be taking them back on Monday and may go in tomorrow, just because I want a tire with the rim protector and they have the ContiExtreme Contacts, but I really like these Toyos...

No, it's hard to notice the rim protector really. But my wheels have been okay since I got them. My wife scaped my rims back when we had the factory RE92's. Or maybe she's just more careful now.

SciFi..whered' you get your Proxes at locally. I've been lookiing at Cassidy Tire - I've heard good things about them. I'm leaning towards Pirelli's myself though.

From up in Gurnee at http://www.frisbyracetire.com just click on Toyo and then the tire you want to see the sizes and prices. You can call or email, they might be a bit busy right now as they shave a couple thousand tires every April, and often follow the races around the region. I don't think they stock the Proxes 4's, just the T1-S and RA, takes a week or two to get the 4's in.

Update...

Well I just reached 100K kms on my car which means I've been on these tires for 65K kms.

They're beginning to show gradual wear but grip is good and break away is still very predictable. I still haven't experienced tireslip on wet pavement.

I've just installed my new springs and shocks and soon my rear swaybar, so we'll see how they'll fair.

I just got my Proxes and love 'em even though I have only had them for two weeks!

Thanks for everyones input! (canada)
