We are vultures...I'm sure if one of us totals our cars we'll be here selling parts. In that note, if you did total a car and its insured, do you keep the car or does it instantly goes to the insurance company, and you can't take anything off of it?

If you own the car and its fully insured, I think you can keep it.

If you owe on the car the insurace company keeps it or goes to the leased company.

Anyone know?

if you own the car and you have full insurance you can not take anything off the car that is covered. how ever if there are aftermarket parts on there that are NOT covered you can take those parts off. thats what ended up happening with my civic when the theifs left some parts on my car
