Top Gears look at the MPS?

Hey guys, im not sure if you guys are familiar with this british car show on BBC called "Top Gear", i love this show!, ... any ways they were doing a clip on the Mazdaspeed 6, but in the clip they called it the "MPS", the thing that i didnt understand was that they said it only had 256HP, and did 0-60mlh in 6.5 seconds. it the MS6 faster in the states and y?

and wat duz MPS stand for?

Yea the US 6 is like to 270 hp.

And the actual numbers for the speed 6 are that low it all depends on the dyno and the conditions that you are in.

Remember that the emission standards in the UK are different then here. The UK cars and different markets are not all tuned the same.

ya but on my MS6 brochure the HP states that it is 275, are u saying it could actually be less?

American/candian MS6 is NOT the same as the UK/JDM MPS. Yes it COULD be lower.

but dammit i want a ms6. test drove one and now i cant get it out of my head.

i didnt get it, he made it seem as though "mazdas" were cheap and like poor mans car no? he said the only reason he wouldnt drive it is cuz of the front grill?

The Mazda is the poor man's car compared to the one's they usually have on that show. And in all actuality, Mazdas are a poor man's car overall. Look at the cars that are comparable to the speed6 or MSP in it's day. The alternatives are, in fact, more expensive. I love my p5, and I realize it's much different from your speed6, but it feels cheap as well. However, that's exactly why I bought it. It was cheap, yet still fun to drive.

The fact that he choose the ford over the mazda simply because of it's "cheap grill" proves he's not the car enthusiast he claims to be. I personally don't know what he's talking about but, even if it IS cheap, who gives a s***? It's still 10x better than those other POS cars.
