Took a Test Drive

When to my local Mazda Dealer to look at the P5's. MY mother knows the owner so I was hoping to get a good deal. I test drove a Autom Silver, with the Moonroof, and safety options. Absolutely loved it and was sold. I don't want a manual and the only other Auto was a Red one and had no options. I do not want a red car, dont like them. The silver one I test drove sticker was $19,700 and they are selling it to me for $16,500. The red one would only be $14,500. Can I do better? or is this a good deal?

Thats a pretty damn good price, I guess you dont have a trade in, how many miles does it have? ours had 176 when we bought her, id snap it up, and welcome to the group

Yesterday I went to test drive a P5 just to see how it compared to my car, the salesman quoted me 15.600 out the door, 5speed and the only option was leather, it sounded like a good deal for such a nice car...is it? (dunno)

Got mine 5 speed manual, ABS, 6 in dash CD, moonroof, and 16" alloy for a total of $17500, including tax and tags. I live in Philly, PA, so tax is 7%.

Plan on taking at least $3500 off sticker for P5 right now. $2250 rebate and the rest will be a discount off sticker. Also, if you are a recent college grad, add another $500 off of that too.

Mazda currently has a $2250 rebate incentive on the protege5. You'll find that some dealers will take an additional $250-$1,000 off that as well depending. So you're looking at the very worst of $2500 off sticker.

Who buys off sticker?! Get them to go off of invoice - no exception. Going off of sticker is like cutting your finger off and trying to cover it up with a band-aid. It's a bad situation made worse.....they'll make money even if they sold at "dealer cost" (due to kickbacks from Mazda). If they start crying about "not making enough" from the sale, turn around and walk out....
