Took a midnight shot!

This pic was taken around midnight last night... I'll never get used to midnight sun... NEVAAR! (freak)

I think the shoot turned out pretty good, I was pressured by our state bird... the Skeeters werer krazy! I got eaten alive but I think it was worth it

Midnight sun does rock!! The only bad thing is that I never get to work on time because of going to bed too late.

Alaska is soo crazy. How do you sleep with the sun still out? Do you use that extra time in the sun to do other things that you coulndt do durring the day? What is the temp outside at around midnight?

Been in 5 years... 3 of which have been here in Alaska. I just received new orders for permenant change of station to San Antonio, Texas.... YeeeHaaaaew!!

On the weekends it can be rough, because it's like 3am and your mind is all " It's still daylight outside, don't go to bed yet loser!" that can take a toll on you come Monday morning.
I have my bedroom window covered on tin foil... no light getting through there!

US Coast Guard here (usa) Just transfered from NY in July of last year.

But i am originally from here. Still not used to the Daylight though. "Been gone for too long" Country Music???? I forgot who sings it. (not that i even listen to that type of music!!!) (notcool)

i love alaska in the summer.
i went up there when i was 15 and backpacked around for 2 months.. i was in anchorage, talkeetna, juneau (i donno if i spelled them rite). went up on to the glaciers on denali, hiked around, rode a train, got to spend a week with a guy that trained sled dogs.. awesome trip..
only downfall was.. bought a ton of awesome fireworks that are illegal in cali.. then it never got dark there. -=\
oh well. live and learn.
