Antoine, I wasn't sure if this was the place to post this thread, please move to appropriate section if necessary.

And all you guys out there, try to hold off on comments until I'm done posting my pics hehehe (rockon)

** 2/6/2009 Edit - OK guys feel free to start positng comments **

Impressions of the Auto Salon:
It was my first ever trip to the Tokyo Auto Salon - with the global economic crisis I figured there'd be less people and it seemed that way - until about 11:00 AM. It started to get so crowded that trying to get clean shot opportunities was near nigh impossible. I went on Saturday and gave up around 4:00pm (entered at 9:10AM).

Given the above situation, I wasn't able to hit all the major tuners and parts suppliers for all the brands. I also didn't know they had a D1 GP event running there (dang, if I'd known I'd taken some vids). Guys would flock to companion girls who would pose for them - it was nuts.

Also, I just bought my Canon Ixy and wasn't sure how long my batteries would last and wasn't sure if my 8GB SD card was enough (they did last and it was enough - and now I regret not recording the entire Mazda booth show - the companion girls were wearing really nice dresses!).

Mitsubishi must have been really hurting financially. They didn't show for Detroit and here, well, their Ralliart booth was small and off in the corner. Dwarfed by the Work (wheel maker) booth. Pity.

Bridgestone and Dunlop had huge booths and it seems tire manufacturers have money to spend.

The theme of many companies was "eco" for ecologically friendly, economical etc. This includes Bridgestone, Dunlop, Mazda, Toyota, etc. Got to wonder what cars will be like in the future - ugh!

OK here goes, enjoy.

** 2/1/2009 Edit **
OK, I've decided to signup for Photobucket and upload there. Then I'll post links here. That should make things faster for me. Sorry for the delay.
** 2/2/2009 Edit **

RE Amemiya!! Part I

Just a note here - Amemiya's booth was just so crowded that it was impossible to get decent shots. I saw someone had better shots that they'd probably taken during the press-only hours.

Sea green RX-7 (IMO I think it's not so cool)

Rays S2000!

This was a pretty neat looking S2000. I just wish Honda would continue building sporty cars.... everybody's going the "Eco-friendly" route - yes, that's fine but driving should still be fun, not mind-controlled or PC. OK enough ranting, here are the pics:

This is a Stillen-supercharged Z. If I had lots of money, I'd have lots of supercharged cars....

Good Year bags galore

p.s. Has anyone noticed all those Good Year bags that everyone is carrying in all these pics? I got one too!! It was incredible the Good Year booth was just handing them out like crazy - they literally had boxes and boxes of these bags in their booth, and opened and emptied boxes littered their booth floor. They were more concerned with handing out bags than with their actual booth it seemed. Funny, I don't remember what their booth was like hahaha.

Was 3,600,000 yen/yr for the JET program when I was looking at it. . .

daonly1around - Japan is a good place to visit but I don't recommend living here for more than 3 years unless you want to go loco. If you're young enough you can come here on a working holiday type of visa, if they still do that in Japan. I'd wait until the 1 or 2 million plus that got laid off here gets back to work before coming over to teach English....
