Tokico Illuminas w/ Eibach Pro Kit- Pics??

Eventually, I'll do this. I don't care one bit about looks, just performance. I like the suspension travel of the stock setup, and being able to hit speed humps (not parking lot bumps) at full speed, I just wish the springs were stiffer. Could you do this on Eibachs?

Eibachs are a pretty non-aggressive spring. A relatively mild drop (~1.5")

Really? Looking at the specs, the lbs are pretty high. The soft part is stiffer than the stock springs, the stiff part is stiffer still. But it's tough to tell what that means, as I have no idea what the leverage is on the spring.

Its going to be stiffer than stock. It's just not so aggressive as other aftermarket springs. I would just say that eibachs are probably the least aggressive option for aftermarket springs. You won't be rubbing with Eibachs & the stock wheels...

Well, I'll eventually find out when the time comes. I'll definitely try to hook up a ride in some local car, first. I have speed humps everywhere in my neighborhood, effing hate them. I won't do a suspension upgrade if I'll have to crawl over the damn things.

Fair enough. humps aren't so bad with my car, I have about 2" of drop. Its the bumps that you have to take slow.

I never scrape on driveways or speed bumps, and there's zero rubbing with 215s. Been riding illuminas and pro-kits for 4 years now.

I just thought I would show it with two different size tires. The Volks have a 215/40/17 and the ugly Racing Harts have the 215/45/17.

Are the blues stiff enough for the Prokit?

Lots of people rolling on Eibach/blues. I think I've read they're comparable to a 2-3 setting on the Illumina's but don't quote me on that.

Well an 1" to 1.25" is the max I want to go. I think Tokico makes a spring.

I think they ARE a bit underdamped.

it seems so. If they blues are a 2-3 on the Illuminas, and the prokits require a 4-5 on the Illuminas...the blues/prokit would be underdamped. As my budget will be more inline with blues than illuminas, I'll have to find a spring that won't be underdamped on the blues.

Obvious choice being the full tokico kit. I wonder how good a job they did matching the springs and struta to the car? You would assume it'd be perfectly damped, but who knows.
