Titanium spotted in Cary, NC

loj68- you got your MSP flashed at Al Smith off Wake Forest Rd.?!?!?!?!?! They are the ones that first told me it voided the warranty and then told me they didn't have the software. I haven't delt with Capital Mazda yet but I did try to buy mine their but Al Smith went lower on the price. I changed my oil after the break in period and noticed a small spot of what I belive is oil accumulated on the bottom of the turbo. If it needs to be replaced, I need to find out which dealership should do it.

Ok, I have never been to al's shop so I dont know about that place. I do know that I have a lot of respect for my stealership in Cary (Capital of Cary) I am pretty anal when it comes to my car, and who I let touch it. So far there is only 3 people who have put their hands on the MSP... Me, Heathen23, and Capital of Cary... They are not perfict, but as far as dealerships go, I would say that their about as close as ur going to get. Besides, U really wanna trust the fate of ur car to a guy named Al?

Well guys from what i can tell you all have aready gotten the flash done on your cars. However on 10/6/03 Mazda finally released a TSB so all dealers now have the elusive information. If any one is still having trouble you can now refer to TSB 01-002/03

Thanks for posting dealerpersonel. It's good to know that there are a few techs that actually are interested in the cars they work on or the issues discussed by the owners. Glad to have you on the forums.


Anyone give any thought to a meeting place to caravan up to the Spool/ProMazda meet? Who locally is going besides DaKidd, Tracey, Loj68 and myself?

Im not going that day but you guys are more than welcome to me at the motorcycle shop I work at. Its real close to 40 and real easy to find.

Plus I could at least feel like part of the group even if Im not going to spool and getting to look at all the cool cars and toys and people and Im going to miss the roadtrip and the caravan and the saddle time behind the wheel.... no im not bitter

I would be very willing to bet that that's Daryl at Al Smith. He hooked me up once i finally got to talk to him. Al ain't that bad if you talk to Daryl yaal.

It looks like it's just 3 cars (4 people total) coming from Raleigh so why don't we just go with Jinx's shop and we can all head out from there unless anyone has a better idea (all ideas are welcome ofcourse). Let's make a meet time around 9:45/10am considering mapquest sets the travel time around 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Jinx (or anyone else that knows) can you post up an address or directions to the shop?

Just giving the map a quick glance it looks like it puts us very close to 85 which is very nice for travel up to VA. Let's go ahead and make a meet time window of 9:45-10:00 AM and a plan on heading north by 10:15.

Please give some input if anyone would like to do things different in any way! I'm just trying to get some specifics laid out as early as possible so we can all plan.
