So it seems the concensous is 235/45/18 , or 225/45/18 for the size. Now im debating on either some good all season rubber, or using my stock setup as the winter crap weather wheel and getting some sticky summer dunlop d's! i dont plan on rolling the fenders, and i may drop on eibach or cobb springs soon. Any suggestions on a good all season tire? or would i be better off running a summer setup...esp if i powdercoat. gracias.

If you're going to drop on Cobb springs, 235/40 or 245/40. If on Eibach Pro-Kits, 235/40 since it'll be lower than the Cobbs. As for what tire, no clue since I'm use to getting ultra performace tires.

Only have them on for a few thou, but so far they are quiet, compliant and grippy for a GT A/S.

No suggestions for a specific tire brand for you but the size.........I've been thinking 235/40/18.

I'm leaving the susp totally stock and don't want to roll the fenders either.

Any reason why you are going with 45 aspect ratio instead of 40?

A really good deal is the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo. Rides really well, doesn't tramline, reduces torque steer, grips much more predictably than the stock square stones, cheap to buy, lighter weight than most, reducing unsprung weight. Highly recommended, you can't beat them for the price and they beat alot of other tires, even not taking price into account.

235/40/18 - wider than stock, but a tad short in diameter.

245/40/18 - wider than stock, but a tad taller in diameter.

255/35/18 - wider than stock, but shorter in diameter. (as tall as or barely shorter than a 225/40 tire)

Any reason why? With a taller than stock combo you'll be reducing torque multiplication a bit where as the opposite is true with a shorter combo. Only positive I see to tall is maybe better appearance due to less clearance at the fender if stock.

Thats all i was thinking, that it would take up a bit more of the fender well gap...but then again i wanted to drop on cobb or eibach so i think im goin with the 235/40

I've been trying to decide if I would be happy with an AS tire vs a UHP summer or MAX summer tire. I already have snow's and they'll be on the stock rims. I just hate how quickly the stock stones have worn out and would like something that lasts at least two seasons and then some. Been thinking about trying to find the best AS tire out there for performance and anything with a wear rating of 300 or better but there's so many compromises made with AS tires.... I don't know. Not sure if I'll be happy with the steering response and grip VS a summer tire and sacrificing that for better wear.
