tire pressure sensor problem.

Tonight i was meeting up with some friends of mine in a sketchy part of town and was forced to traverse through some quite uneven roads.... At one point before arriving at my destination i quickly turned down a street which had a drop-off and hit my lower end pretty hard... less than 60 seconds later i arrived and turned off my car... A few hours later while pulling away my tire pressure sensor went off randomly. All my tire pressure appears to be just fine.... did i mess up my tire pressure sensor by hitting my front end too violently???

tomorrow i plan on going to autozone and seeing if resetting the ecu will cure this problem... my car is still stock and under warranty.

What is the pressure readings?.. I wouldn't go to autozone for that, just add a pound or two to see if it goes off.

the lowest was 32 psi... i filled them all between 34-35 and the pressure light went off.... that's so stupid!.. i could have sworn i've have pressure below 32 and the sensor didn't go off.

Those sensors are a little goofy, they'll go off if the pressure changes, which happens a lot to me in the colder weather as I warm up the tires.

TPMS is worthless. The only reason it's on the car is because it's a requirement on all newer vehicles (past 2007 I think? I honestly don't remember the cutoff). It's more of "idiot-proofing" than a real warning system. Don't trust it, keep up with regular maintenance on your own. I check my tire pressure at LEAST once a week to make sure everything is ok.

Exactly, I was relying on it and then when I checked tire pressure, my drivers side front wheel had a nail in it and was @ 21 PSI; all with no TPMS warning. Now i check my pressure like I used to before TPMS; twice a month.

yea i work with them all day and ive had 2 days off training devoted to just those stupid things they will go off usally 3-4 pounds below and in some cars 3-4 pounds over to and dont ever use fix a flat or any tire repair sealant in them cuz then you will be buying a sensor i just put motegi mr 116 18x8 on my car and i left them off 215/45r18 potenza re-11 xl tires left them in my stock wheels for winter with blizzak lm-60 on them

This scenario happened to me, but my front passenger side. I dont know if i was poor install from the mounting place I took it, but for a week I heard clunking from that same side when driving slowly, and the TPMS light was also on. I found out it was the TPMS and it was freakin totally loose inside the tire/wheel, so took it into mazda and they were nice enough to replace it under warranty. TPMS is love/hate. Hate that light.
