Tire Pressure for stock tires

What tire pressure do you recommend for the stock tires? The manual says 32 psi, but I took it to Kwik Kar and the guy put in 45 psi. He said he's got the same tires and that it will wear the middle of the tires better to prolong their life.

Being as I know very little about cars, what are your thoughts? What pressure are you using for your tires?

Increasing the tire pressure will help keep the tires walls firm preventing your car from rolling onto the side walls during hard cornering (i.e. autocross)

Increasing the pressure too high will eventually buldge the middle of the tire, reducing the treads contact area with the ground.

During auto-x, I found that my stock tires performed very well with 39F 37R. Anything over that and the handling got worse. Driving home with the extra air I found the ride got a bit hard.

I like to run 35F and 33R for spirited around town driving but for long drives the 32 all around is really the best.

Is 45 dangerous? Should I drop the pressure? Most of my driving is either either short distances at college (2-15 miles) or 450+ miles between Memphis and Dallas.

Ya drop the pressure

32-35 keep the same at all wheels.

for everyday normal driving go with 32

Fortunately, I made the drive from Dallas to Memphis safely (didn't lower pressure). I'll do it tomorrow. Thanks to all for the advice.
