Hey you guys I'm new to the site here but currently looking for a forum to help me out with a fitment on my 2007 Mazda 3 Sport Sedan 2.3L. I'm currently running stock 17" sport wheels that came with it as well as 205/50r17. I'm looking for a wider tire and more of a lower profile for my stock wheel without camber and rolling fenders. I'm currently looking at 235/45r17 coopers to go on it it gives me little wider plus smaller profile. Will this fit without any adjustments? Please help. I'm looking for a nice stance look for now till I can lower her. But won't be for awhile. Please help! My stock wheel width is 6.5

A 235/45R17 will be a little bigger diameter than your stock tires, but it's nothing to lose sleep over. They'll fit under your fenders, but I can't guarantee that you wouldn't see any rubbing at all. The bigger problem is that they won't go on a 6.5" wide wheel.

If it were me, I'd go with a 17 x 7.5" wheel and 225/45R17 tires.

Was doing some research as well and saw that the 225/45r17 will fit on a 6.5" wheel but will it be to bulky?

Some people may have successfully mounted 225/45R17 tires on a 6.5" wide wheel, but I don't believe there's any tire manufacturer that would recommend it.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'too bulky', but I can't imagine any situation that would compel me to describe a 225/45R17 tire as such, at least not when we're talking about putting it on a 3.

What's the issue with the 6.5" wide wheel what can happen?

Possible sudden loss of air pressure at high speed, rollover and death of occupants

Believe us, 6.5-inch wheels are too narrow for 235s.

I was talking about a 225/45r17 235 I know 235 is way too big

Your car isn't going to spontaneously explode if you mount a 224/45R17 on a 6.5" wide wheel, but that still doesn't mean that the tire will perform as well or last as long in service.

I checked the specs for a random brand of 225/45R17 and they said that the allowable rim width range is 7" to 8.5" with a measuring rim width of 7.5" (and for a 235/45R17 is 7.5" to 9" with a measuring rim width of 8"). Narrower than the spec width the tire won't perform well and may not even stay seated on the rim properly - there's certainly no point in going to the wider tires if they don't have wheels to make them perform. The "measuring width" is not necessarily the ideal width, but it is the one used to determine measurements such as section width.
