tire fitment on stock rims

A buddy gave me an almost new set of 225/50/16, will they fit under the wheel wells with the stock rims, any rubbing? Car is a 03.5 p5.

the stock wheels are 16 x 6 inches...thats a pretty narrow wheel for 225 tires. Protege 5's can go with 215 width tires on 17 x 7.5 inch wheels w/ +48mm offset...but i highly doubt a 225 width would fit without rubbing in the rear...

although, I forget what the offset of the factory wheels are...I think its something silly like +55...it might work, but as i said earlier, thats a pretty narrow wheel for that tire size.

Well that sucks,I guess im gonna sell them off for some that fit. I would have loved to use them on the 7 but only have 15 and 17 for it. Thanks for the help Installshield 2.

215s fit on the stock 16 in rims, but that is without a doubt the limit!
