LA Tint in Manassas quoted me $219 for protege sedan, all 4 windows, back window extra - even for repeat customer (see story below). my friend asked them to do 35% all around on his car, which they did, they just didnt list the percentage on the receipt. Express Tint in Centreville quoted me $180 for same sedan, 4 windows 35% after i told them i was referred to them by a previous customer.
just so you know, i was pulled over for my tint and only for the tint. wasnt speeding, no loud music, no "jack rabbit" driving. i was obeying all signs and traffic laws. cop got out of his car, pointed at me, blew his whistle and motioned for me to pull off to the side. 1st words out of his mouth were "what are you doing with tint that dark?" and f00ked me up the ass. it was sold to me by the dealer w/ 15% tint already on the car (probably put on by previous owner). i didnt ask for it, nor did i even notice it -- my parents have a minivan with the same amount put on by the factory. the tint was an awesome job and the tint material was top-notch. i paid LA Tint to remove the film and got the ticket dropped at court w/ the receipt, but i have yet to be reimbursed for the labor being sold a non-street legal car from the dealer. i got the car re-tinted because it made such a big difference in the sunny days and kept the temperature of the interior cooler than w/o it. Express Tint recommended 35% all around; its still illegal but not as obvious. VA state law says 35% tint in rear doors, 28% in rear window, 50% front windows. NO VISOR TINT unless came from factory or approved by DMV for medical purposes. Virginia BS! this is the same damn state that took away red light cameras cuz people didnt want to get caught running the damn lights.
do not buy from Koons Tysons Toyota. They di(k you around and avoid contacting you back or let you talk to anyone unless they want a sale from you. they told me they sold me the car "As Is" which is a lie, the receipt shows 30 day warranty, and "As Is" doesnt exempt the car from being street legal.
