Looking for advice on suitable tires for replacments.
Car came with proxas 4's at stock size. Will probably keep the stock size and profile and just wanna get something that wont be a downgrade

for the most part the toyo's were pretty good. Nice and responsive in the dry and wet though got a little stiff when it got cold.

My short list include;
more proxas 4 $179 cdn
toyo extensa hp $149 cdn
kumho spt $165 cdn
goodyear eagle f1 $178 cdn
Kumho ast $129 cdn "not great but cheap and lota of people say they are decent for the money spent"
falken fk452 $135 cdn

i dont race at all and if i do ill get seperate tires for that. Its more a dd and family car and i occasionally rip up the back roads.

Comments?

thats a verrrry good price =O i never thought to check costco. i was actually looking at that bridgestone too.

ill have to cruise out there and see. those tires are like $175 for stock size at 1010tires.

alright.

short list is now Kumho SPT in 215/40/17 or Toyo Extensa in 215/45/17. ive driven on spts and they were pretty grippy, havent been able to find any comments on the new toyos though.

Those do look like solid all seasons. Can feel
my buttcheeks pucker if i have to order from the states though and pay duty/tax/retarded shipping.

might be at costco. we heading out for a shop this weekend so ill tire shop too.

Found someone locally selling a set of 15" mazda 3 alloys from 2005 with 30 and 50% rubber left.
selling them for $50! so im gonna get those if they fit over my brakes and keep em for winters =)

trying to keep purchuse options to whats on 1010tires.com since they in vancouver and have the best wholesale prices in canada. though im open to alternates for sure.

actually tough to decide on buying through a shop and getting them installed vs ordering and having somone install them. i wonder how much ill save..

I'm not sure if you've decided on some tires yet, but I bought some Continental Extreme Contact DWS's that are great for a daily driver, in my opinion.

ill have to see if costco sells continental tires. I cant afford to order them from the states because ill seriously pay $120+ in taxes and duty in addition to stupid shipping which i pay tax on as well cause its factored into the whole order price <_<...

putting it on hold for now though. got these mazda 3 wheels to roll on and work on the RH's.

$150 sorry ha ha. + exhance.. so $699 usd... $750, $770 ish cdn for tires listed at $448 <_<

i just bought dunlop direzza z1 star specs tire rack exclusive 133 a piece supppper responsive, awesome tire wont be disappointed!!! and they look awesome too lol they have amazing wet traction and dont hydroplane.. i hit a puddle on the highway at about 80 and the car didnt move...

extensa is a touring tire, don't expect razor sharp response. The Bridgestone RE760 is a good tire but I would suggest the Bridgestone Potenza 960AS Pole Position as a DD tire. a bit pricey but a PHENOMINAL tire. I have them on my wife's RX8 - LOVE them. Bonus is 40K mile warranty!

have you ever had any snow with them? im looking to get tires fro my 15's that can handle the winter on the west coast. the 960 was my first choice but seeing a lot of good with the goodyear GT as well. more money, but dunno..
