Throttle Body work??

Ok, so i ordered a spare stock throttle body and what to send it out.
What should I have done to it? should i have it tappered or a port/polish job w/ a bigger throttle plate?
I need some idea's.
Also how many mm is the throttle body and what size should it be ported to?

I don't think you can port them a whole lot. I know blkzoomzoom has found the limits of how much to port a throttlebody. I also saw pics somewhere of a kinda clever idea involving the shaft that the throttle plate attaches to. Basically, one side of it is removed, so only half the shaft is used. I think you have to replace the screws with ones that have bigger heads in order to do this.

No, YOU go try it. I got tons of other things that need work on my car, my throttlebody is the least of my worries right now. Anyways my IC pipes are smaller in diameter than the throttle body, so I don't see how it could really help me much.

i'm actually talking to someone right now about having it ported from 55mm to 59mm.
He did it on my spec v and i like his work. So if all goes well i'm going to introduce him to this forum

I would honestly focus on something other than the TB. More power to ya... post pics of the process.

yeah i know. but i like to do the little things first.
i'm looking into a intake and fmic after this.

cool.
i'm not looking to spend nowhere near $175 though.
this is going to be done by hand and cost around $55 or so

This is the one I am running now. It basically has the lip removed and contoured to the throttle plate. Also the bottom half of the throttle plate has been shaved.

what do u mean remove the bottom half of the plate?
when i did a search early today i read that there were 2 plates ???

Dude, I wasn't talking about removing a plate, just removing part of a shaft that the plate attaches to. It is what boomergt did.
Look again at the link I already posted.

Then compare that to your throttle body, you will see the difference. It is pretty small difference in terms of the total cross sectional area, but if you are porting a millimeter at a time, you might as well do something like that too.
