those with 07 and 08 bose HU (the ones that max at 35) and aftermarket amp(s)

what volume level on the head unit did you use as a base max vol level to set your gains on your amp(s)? to me, it seems like 28 is the max clean volume level...the problem is ALC is a personal favorite of mine and i run it at "ALC 3", so when i drive, the volume goes up. i'm assuming 3 notches, hence the 3?

i guess it means i have to start at 25 and set my gains accordingly, then turn up to 28 to see if it distorts, to mimic the ALC. i can't play with the gains and stuff in the back when moving so i guess that is the best solution to fake the action of the ALC.

so what level did everyone use?

I have an 07' MS3. I dont turn mine up past 24. I have a hi/lo converter under the seat off the factory amp. With an adjustable line driver in my dash as well. This lets me adjust gain levels on the fly as well as boosts the factory output levels. I also keep the ALC at 1. good luck
