Same thing here in Minnesota. Of course, you could just run without a front plate and hope that no one notices...not that I would do that. OK, I did that...went 5 years on my RX-7 turbo without a ticket until the nice officer finally noticed. Just got a warning...should I keep it off?

I would keep it off. I dont have a front plate on my Miata, and so far no troubles. I wonder what would happen if they pull you over again? How much would the ticket cost? If its not that much, I dont think that it is worth ruining the front of your car just so they have a better place to point their radar guns at!

Actually I think I was having a senior moment there. I do recall I got a ticket for no front plate about 4 years ago down by the Metrodome at a Twins baseball game. Ran about $35. But since I just found the ticket under my wiper and never actually spoke with the nice officer I merely paid the fine and left it off.

Next encounter was 4 years later this past fall on the last day I was driving it before I tucked it away for the winter! He gave me a warning and a "fix-it" ticket. As long as I re-attached it and brought it in to have them see it within 7 days - no fine. So that's what I did.

Yes, most all sports/sporty cars look much better without the front plate but it is illegal in my state and you have to decide if it is worth the hassle. Have a great day!:)
