This car is already pissing me off.

I'd just like to post one final thank you to boostisgood and linuxracer because they both hit the nail on the head. The reset button on the radio worked like a charm and I just disconnected and reconnected the battery terminal and VIOLA no more hesitation. You'd think the service dept. would know to do that. Thanks again guys, your da best:D

Don't believe that the ECU reset fixed the hesitation for good. It may have fixed it for NOW, but chances are extremely high it will re-appear in a few hundred miles. You'd be the first one on the board that had it fixed permanently by resetting the ECU .... so if it works make sure you post about it again in a couple weeks.

C'MON SHOCKER!!!!!! I WORK on Saturdays too, also a big day, but guess what..... I'm coughin already...LMAO!!!! I have to go in but I'll just be l-a-t-e!!!!!! Its already arranged...LOL!!!! Cmon !!!!!! I gotta stop by Join us!!!!! I'll still have to go in & accomplish something but I'll jus have a little FUN first!!!!!!
Maybe, Jus maybe I might need a cellphone... do you do housecalls???? I may also KNOW a few others that may be interested also, they jus happen to own SPEEDS & will be meeting at the same time!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!

Thanks to boostisgood and the others for the radio reset button. Looks like I need to carry a pen on me at all times. I am very nice to service people because I am in the cell phone industry and I know being pissed gets you nowhere. Now I just have to invest in hardpipes, although I'd like to not void my warranty. About the MD meet, I'd love to go but I work every Saturday, weekends are big business for cell phones:) Thanks again everybody. Oh and I will try the battery terminal thing to reset the ecu, I did hear that sometimes it needs to be done.

I REALLY wish I could, I'll be on the lookout for another meet so I can take off in advance. If any of you guys need cellphones though <<cough, cough>> I can get special Mazda owner phone pricing, heheh.:)

Welcome to the club, it sucks, don't it!!!

God shut up already!!!! Sell it get whatever the hell else you want that is so much better and get the hell off the board.

I say if you really want to enjoy the car and want a lot of the flat spots in the power to go away, add a MBC and go up to like 9-10psi, trust me it's whole different car and you'll enjoy it a lot more.

I feel the same way...I've got a bunch of little problems with my NEW car that keep me from enjoying it.

  • coolant leak-going to be fixed by dealer (hopefully permanent)
  • rust on brake hubs-going to be fixed by dealer
  • Racing Beat sticker is peeling off my rear sway
  • I think I heard the clunk for the 1st time today
  • rough idle: changing back to stock plugs for now until I get someone to double check the gapping on my BKR7Es
  • sounds like I have an exhaust rattle
  • When I'm in reverse & push in the clutch, I have a weird sound & it's not just the whine that reverse makes.

Most of these should be fixable, but it's just annoying with a new car.

My stock BPV was also leaky, but luckily Forge helped me with that.

if it makes u guys feel anybetter my mp3 has its own faults:

- broken rear motor mount
- "the clunk"
- flat spot in the power band about 2700rpm in 3rd 4th and 5th, it went away in third after i got my AEM intake.
- seat came loose
-3rd day i had it the retainer nut for the shift fork fell off 400 miles away from home.
- IAT sensor blew
-exhaust leak

and thats about it that was not caused by me, i had valve ticking and slow e/t's but putting a fresh tank of 91 octane in it fixed it all.

Wow! I can't believe the Racing beat sticker is peeling off on your new car... I hope they can get that fixed. Woo! Close one... They may need to do a TSB on that.

The rust on the brake hubs is attrocious. Did it just start or was that way when you bought it? Mine were already rusted... Again what a HUGE pain on a new car.

You *think* you heard the clunk ONE time... but, aren't sure? I'd definitely take it in for that. That must be really annoying when you've been straining your ears for so long to hear it.

You messed with your plugs, aren't sure if you did it right, used plugs not specified for this car, and then complain that it's Mazda's fault? Wow, that takes guts.

You people who read this board and then expect the problems on your own car is what's truly annoying. Anyone that's looking for problems will find them. It's funny that the post following the one I quoted has had some real problems...

But, the RB sticker, UNDER the car is peeling... puh-leez. Stop whining and go drive more.

I know it's no big deal, but it shouldn't be happening after only 3400 miles. The only reason I care is because you can see it if you drive behind me.

Mine were rusted when I got them along with almost every other MSP I've seen. I know it happens because they bring the cars over on ships, but the rust really takes a lot away from a car that otherwise looks great. I just think it's something the dealers should fix before they sell the car instead of making us come back in & get it done on our own.

I only mentioned this because up until now I haven't heard it & I was hoping that maybe I wouldn't get it. People have said that it's something that develops, so I'm worried that mine might just be starting. Obviously I can't take it in because there is no REAL fix for it yet.

I know I did my plugs right...I never said otherwise. However, it's the only explanation I can come up with for the rough idle. When I get my MBC, I'm going to put them back in, but I'd like to get someone who has done theirs to double check mine. For now, I am changing back to stock just to be safe. The NGK BKR7Es aren't specified for this car, but there are like 100+ people on here who have them & have no problems. I never said it was Mazda's fault either...that's why I'm not asking them to fix it.

Most new cars DON'T have these kinds of problems. I still love my car & I've never regretted buying it, but it's just annoying. This is the 1st time that I've even mentioned these problems, so the only person whining here is you. Please do everyone a favor & stop acting like you are all high & mighty. I only listed my problems in case other people had the same ones.

Dude, shut the hell up. Seriously. If you have nothing to contribute in a positive manner, don't contribute at all. Either that or join Razor's anti-MSP drama loving cult.

No need to explain yourself. My MSP had a *large* amount of problems and when I posted them I just got flamed because they were "caused by me". I agree, no new car should have problems, period.

OK, Captain Complainer, (t3ase) after this post I'll shut the hell up... I don't want to have your list of problems brought up again... sheesh! that would be punishment enough!

However, my complaint/outrage was because it sounded like a bunch of whining about very minor things. I guess I'm just tired of people complaining about tiny issues that shouldn't be very annoying. Most cars that I've had do have these kinds of problems. It's just the MSP owners seem to want to publicly complain about every single tiny little thing... and I don't know why. Why not just remove the stupid sticker with your hand. Call RB and order tons of stickers to put all over your car.... They'd probably be happy to.

Joining the 'anti-drama' club sounds like a GREAT idea if somehow it would focus this board on driving or custom improvements... and not so much on what's wrong with the car. How's that for high and mighty? I never said I wasn't either. LOL

Regardless of how you feel, think about how others feel before you post something. That sounds like a stupid line from an elementary school teacher, but it would help this board out greatly if everyone did that.
