Thinking about getting a ms6 but have some questions.

hello everyone
I currently own a mazda3 sedan and wanted to trade it in for a ms3. However, I am finding it hard to pass up on the ms6, especially since it has put up better numbers than the ms3 and I could probably get one cheaper than ms3. I test drove the ms6 and I love the car, but I have some questions before I commit to it.

How is the back seat modded so that it can flip down to access the trunk and how large is the opening once modded?

Is it possible to install an 3.5mm headphone jack on the stereo? I need to be able to plug in my ipod and satelite radio.

Are the wheels as difficult to clean as it looks and how bad is the break dust issue? My mazda 3 has a ton of break dust and it is extremely annoying to have to clean the wheels everytime I drive the car, I can only imagine how bad it is with 15 spoke wheels.

Does anyone know a good dealer in jersey?

Thanks in advance for your help.

i know the seat dont fold down wish it did stock.

brake dust well thats a huge issue but im going to switch the brakes over to ebc asap...lol cleaning the wheel havent you used magic erasers those are the best... im sellin my stock ms6 wheels not because there a pain to clean its not that bad if you use the magic erasers its just because i bought new momo's and i figure i dont need the stock wheels...

stereo question i have no idea havent you heard of cd's? ...lol

if you dont want the stock 18s you can have the dealer put on whatever you want but you gotta ask them to do it

that is a great write up on the seat. Mazda could have come up with a better solution to add extra bracing, its not like they are putting 400whp to the ground. Any ideas on the ipod and what kind of gas mileage do you guys get?

Gas Mileage ... I avg 22 or so around town. I recently took a 1000+ mile trip and avg 26 for that.

I don't "baby" it, but I don't mash the pedal to the floor at each stop light either.

I get 22mpg areound town, if I keep the rpm's under 3k I get 24mpg. I get 27-29mpg on the highway, but I have a CAI, and that helped the gas mileage by a couple mpg.

Can't fault a car for how difficult it is to clean the brake dust. Is it bad? Not the best brake dust situation ever, but the complete joy of having a S6 in your drive will probably naul and void trivial things (I wanted a fold down seat to, have since forgotten about it). Once you get used to the car it will be something you look foward to driving ,pretty much as often as possible.
It isn't a BMW or an Audi but damn is it close enough, that when you see one you'll think, I am just as fast and half the price, kiss it. (first)

Get one.

its really your choice awd bigger car or fwd smaller car little faster though. do you have kids or intend to soon with that i say get the 6 plus its a under the radar car cops dont look at a huge car drving down the road. almost any car you drive nowdays has bad brake dust they gotta put something cheap to keep the cost down...lol but i love the car milage goes way up with a cai and exhaust

when i put the cai in my car, the milage went down, but after putting a bov somehow it went back up

better gas mileage than I expected. I am going to wait it out until november when mazda updates their rebates, plus I want to be able to test drive a speed3 before committing to the ms6. I don't have kids and probably wont have any soon as long as my wife doesn't secretly stop taking her birth control. Is the car loud with a CAI? I think it is way too quiet stock, I like how the ms3 sounds in video clips I have seen, almost like a demon breathing.

cai you here the bypass valve more but its not a big difference in sound overall cutting the p shooters off makes a diff. i did turbo back and its awsome almost too loud when i first did it

normal driving I get about 20, highway and ahifting under 3k all the time I can get up to 28. If I drive it like I stole it, :( 15mpg. Yeah the latter hurts. But I don't drive like that too much...

The wheel dust doesn't bother me. I just spray them a little with some wheel cleaner, then wash them with a dedicated wash mit and car wash soap. Leaf blow dry. The 15 or however many spokes does take some time. But I found my hand and a wash mit can contour to the grooves best.

There is no audio jack, or tape player to use a tape fed audio plug. I would assume youu'll have to get some kind of mini transmitter, plug your ipod into that, and set the radio to whatever frequency the tx is set to broadcast.

haha... you use the leaf blower on the whole car, or just the wheels?

I use it on the whole car. I've been using a leaf blower on my cars and motorcycle for many years. If there's a nice coat of polish on there prior, all the water just flies off. Still I use a cloth after that. If there's no wax on the car it doesn't do much good, just pushes the water around.

Before I used the leaf blower I'd go through at least 3 towels drying. With the leaf blower I can finish with one towel.

Where in jersey are you?

I live in new brunswick. Thanks for all the help, I have the auxmod in my mazda 3 and it is exactly what I am looking for in the ms6. I am definately considering this car. Now I just need to find a dealership, where the salemen are not a-holes that are trying to sell the car for msrp.
