things are changing.. -=)

thing that sucks out here.. most the shops wont carry high end stuff.. and if u dont drive up in a lex or benz the high end shops wont deal with you.. i spent 2 hours standing in a store waiting to be haleped with almost $1000 in my pocket to buy 2 12s.. and the little prick that worked there .. helped the guy before me.. the old guy after me.. answered the phone.. took a potty break. and then had the ****** nerve to say.. oh we are closing for lunch can u come back later..
it was nice.. i just left.. told him i wouldnt buy s*** there if they were the last car audio place on the face of the earth.. went out.. got in my dads 2002 lincoln ls v8 (oh yea) while he got in his honda civc and boned out.
sucks people are so judgemental

Doesn't matter what the sales guy does, you can still listen yourself. As a customer if they barge in and turn something off on you start to raise hell.

My problem is finding a shop that carries all or even any of those.

CDT is european and don't list US vendors (other than thezeb.com), and if I find ID or crystal around here, I'll be amazed.

The only New England ID store was in CT last time I called.
I asked to have the number for there New England rep. The woman at ID told me they don't have one. I asked if she thought that might be the reason they are only carried in one store in NE :D

Add Arc Audio to your list of stuff to check out, especially if the money is tight. They are AMAZING for the price. Made in Germany, with crossovers by Rainbow. I had JL Audio XR components before and did a comparison of the Arc Audio with MB Quarts side-by-side and the Arc Audio blew me away. Especially in the protege if your using the stock tweeter locations the MB Quarts were way too bright.

http://www.arcaudio.com Check out the products, don't let the power handling on the ACS components fool you, they way under-rate their speakers. Send them an email with what your interested and they will send you back suggested retail pricing and put you in touch with a dealer.

The closest arc audio dealer to me is in Poughkeepsie, NY...that's like 1 1/2 - 2hrs drive. (argh)

As for power handling, my amp runs 50 at 4 ohms and 70 at 2 ohms. It actually didn't do too badly with the Boston Z when we tried that...not like the jl 300/2 handled them, but they still sounded pretty nice. I really like the sound of the BA pros as well, but everything will probably sound different once it's in the car... :(

Z6 would be my first choice, but since i got the Rally RC820's for workin on the boss' f'n subaru wrx, i'm actually quite please with them considering the 6x8 dropped right in.
