I'm new to the forum and the Mazda 3. I bought a 2005 with a sticking thermostat and a bad #3 motor mount. I purchased oem replacement parts from Mazda, but am in need of torque specs for the motor mount bolts and the three bolts that mount the thermostat housing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

The thermostat housing bolt torque is 71-101 inch lbs. Note, I said inch lbs. divide by 12 to convert to ft. lbs.

#3 mount torque is 55-77.3 ft. lbs. for the two nuts and 55-68.7 ft. lbs. for the bolts.

My data is from the 2008 Mazda shop manual, the information should be good for your 05 car.

Clifton, you are truly a life saver. I'm out of town visiting my parents and found this motor mount bad and also the thermostat, but the local dealer was unable to perform the repair (mechanic couldn't fit the car in his schedule). Thanks to your torque specs, I was able to perform the repairs with my dad and the car is once again road worthy. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.
