The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

so was mid ohio crazy packed this weekend? i wanted to go, but i had to babysit...i can't wait until next month to watch everyone!!!

Bill, Marlon and DaveB have Driver Mods. Josh, you should do a HyperDrive next time. It's $60 for 20mins on the track with an instructor WOT and TONS of fun. It will get you hooked. My P5 is slow but we get spaced out enough in a 20min session you don't hold anyone up too badly, and you can let them safely pass you. My first Hyperdrive there were 6 legit race cars behind me and I help them up. I felt like SUCH a newb...

I wouldn't want to go WOT in the pfizzle. DD + higher mileage FS = worried Josh! lulz_

Josh, you should come out, the best thing about our group is eveyone is helpful. Bill shares a lot of information and will ride with you if the opportunity presents itself. I know when i was testing at Beaverun, his tips saved me a lot of time and will wait to see what it translates into when I am back at Mid-Ohio in 2012. If yo get a chance, try to do HPDE 1, it is an experiene you won't forget. TT is a great group of folks and year some of the big boys will catch you, you just have to check your mirrors.

You may want to look for a Fun Day @ Beaverun $180.00 per event, it is a great track, with elevation changes and the like. I would just upgraded your brake fluid and go to ss brake lines for a better feel while braking.

I was WOT when that motor was in my P5 and it didn't go boom. The next NASA event at Mid-Ohio, you'll have to come out to for sure, even just to watch, you'll get hooked. Even a Hyperdrive is a thrill and you won't hold anyone up if you watch your mirrors and wave them by. Dooo eeet!

In other random news; this ham sandwich for lunch is awesome.

I'm gonna have left over cheese and bacon pizza for lunch.

Do it! You will not regret it and your car won't go boom. You won't be pushing hard enough your first couple times.

And, I had a ham sandwich for lunch also...

I've got leftover Luigi's pizza waiting for me for dinner. hehe

And I'm sure I'll try an event in the pfizzle, I'll just be a little more cautious. Which, I'm sure will be the case anyway being my first time evar!

well my alarm decided it wanted to work again, in that it just wants to go off. I can't disarm it unless I pull the fuse but I can drive around while the siren is going off. Of everything I've done to this car the alarm by far was the worst thing ever.

Or you could participate in a SCCA or NORA event to get your feet wet. I had a blast yesterday even though I placed 2nd again for the 4th time this year. I just ordered some Porterfeild R4-S pads which should be a big improvement over the crapalast pads from autozone I've been rockin the last couple years. Hopefully I can get them replaced before next Sundays event #7 so can take some speed a little further in before braking :)

I don't know about the MSP but on a Miata you want to have crap pads when autocrossing. With my HP+ it's no brakes or instant lockup.

I have to slam my foot into the ground and slowly stop. It needs to be tighter and more crisp rather than wait for it... ...and turn. Most of our courses have really tight turns off of some speed sections. I did some research and with the help of Marlon I decided to go with the Porterfield R4-S pads. They have excellent reviews for street and light track/autocross. I'll find out this weekend I guess.

Anyone have any dealings with TrueChoice in Hilliard?

Stiffer springs are on the way for the Miata so now I need to either get better dampers or get the Koni Sports revalved.

You'll love the pads, they are great for auto-x and HPDE-1 & 2.

I've looked at their site before, It's owned by the same family that owned Mid-Ohio and True Sports Indy racing team. But that's all I know so I"m not really any help
