The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

So I drove on my flat tire for about a mile or so and my service guy is telling me that it may not be reusable because of that. Is that true?

And Marlon, is that Continential deal still going on??

Damn, I forgot you guys were down there. How did it go Evan and Marc?

I had a blast! I got signed off to HPDE 2 after the first session on Sunday. Then went solo and had some fun with a yellow Z06 my 2nd session on Sunday. He took video of me leading and I wish I could see it. He's never used Youtube, but he said he might upload it. He was also speechless because I was pulling away from him (except for the straights obviously...if only I had double the HP like him HAHA).

I definitely learned A LOT from my instructor. O ya...Madness is sooooo much fun lol.

...so I kinda bought another car over the weekend...

haha wow, what did you buy???

Marc, I'm not sure if you check the motorsports video/picture thread so I'll put this here too. These are two 1:40.xxx laps from Saturday. The lines are not perfect because the car is sliding around a lot, but it should give you a good idea of the line I take.

Larry, PM me. We can just bake your stockers and paint the bezel black. That's what I did on my silver p5 and will save you a ton of money instead of getting new/used housings.

Kevin, what did you buy?

Yes, met with the Conti folks @ Watkins this weekend.

lol, never a Prius! ...and I am getting a hair cut, it's too damn hot out for long hair!!!

I got a 2005 VW Golf TDI :)

took me about 6 months to find one in good condition with all of the features I wanted!
it sounds like I'm driving a semi though, lol...but the torque/pep is amazing! not used to the tires being 65's though...too squishy!

and I have a guy buying my MSM that should be picking it up this weekend... I don't really want two car payment, not at all!
nor do I want to own 3 cars right now in my life...

My line looks similar to the one in your video. Although...I'm nowhere near as fast as you HAHA congrats on breaking your old track record...in 90+ degree weather!!!!

Do your parents know about the TDi, Kev? And did you drive by Silvercreek park last night around 8pm? I could've sworn that was your Protege.

Awesome video, Mr. Brees.
edit- I think you've explained it before, and forgive my ignorance, by why do you keep the clutch in so late?

hell no! out of my 4 cars i've bought, they only know about the protege...i'm a bad kid, i know.

and nope, not me, i was home last night!

^ nick depends what your looking for, if you are going for an all season tire you can run year round its not that bad of a move, but if they are summer only tires why sacrifice that extra potential grip and that slightly stiffer sidewall?

Reason I'm asking is my brother has a set of new Cooper tires in that size that I may try to buy off of him for cheap since he won them in some contest. I want the performance obviously since I have my WinterSports.

Bill doesn't heel-toe. I have noticed it before in his previous vids. Obviously he knows his car and doesn't need to go through all those shenanigins to go fast. He just puts the car in the gear it needs to get out of the corner, plain and simple. Personally, I can't heel-toe my P5. My leg/foot position in relation to the pedals just won't work it ends up being a jerky wet-hot mess.

He might be in gear, but it sounds like the clutch is engaged almost to the apex before he lets it out. I won't speculate anything, I'll just let him explain when he gets a minute. :)
