The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I don't have any without seeing it for myself. Did etipp help you with your downpipe yet? Seems he'd have a good idea of what to do.

Side note- what's the difference with the parts your switching out? I'm not familiar with the shifter setups on those cars.

Oh yeah both Jake and Evan helped me out a toooon! Works great now!

The difference is the height that the plate sits. Because the JBarone sits higher and at a different angle when connecting to the shift cable arm (the part that connects to the transmission), and the throw is very heavy. I changed back to the stock weight and it's soooo smooth and easy to shift. The shortcut sits at the same height as stock and is very smooth as well, no muscle required. I'm going to sell off the JBarone shift plate and buy a shortcut....I think it MIGHT be a little bit longer throw than the JBarone, but it's so much smoother. Worth it for me.

Yeah we got his test pipe fixed. Hey Geoff get something long and put it underneath the cable and use two hands on either side and jerk up real quick to pop it off. I know this may sound wierd but it should work.

haha may sound weird is an understatement

lol. got em.

and i got very lucky today. i might not need to sell the wheels. my dad randomly came across a ton of junk batteries and took them to the junk yard with my scrap metal and it came out to about 275$. he knows i need the money so he put it all in my account. it was during his business hours so he got paid to do it, so he doesnt really care whether he has the money from the batteries or not. i just got very lucky.
You can thank me for the aluminum I left for you to scap from the MSP. My AC is almost all gone now, just one more tube and the smaller belt.

That isn't terribly priced either since it comes with a HT. But where are the OE wheels?

Those wheels are ugly as sin. Not too horrible of a price. I laugh because I paid less than that 3 years ago for a car with 40k miles.

That was my first thought about those wheels. I think the hard top is the only thing that makes the price somewhat reasonable.

yeah hardtop helps it but MEH i found an 07 with 37k miles for 11 grand and me personally, id rather have the NC than the msm comparable power stock for stock and its actually lighter than the msm

but then again im a broke ass and this is all just talk, i cant/couldnt really afford either of them right now

That's an awesome price!

The 2007 CX-7 blew it's turbo yesterday. Just like the TSB known for all MZR DISI 2.3 turbo Mazdas, blue smoke pouring out the exhaust. Took it to the dealer--they won't replace it under warranty because they have no proof of oil changes.

Does anyone have any random receipts laying around (dating back to 2007-2008ish) that would show proof of 5w-30 oil?

Also, if someone with access to the Mazdaspeed catalog: Is the CX-7 turbo an item that can be purchased at discount price? I'll have to hurry and become a member if that is the case.

I'm not sure what else to do. I feel bad for my parents. We are down a car now and I'd hate for them to have to spend the cash to fix it...

Chippy, I've seen used turbos in good condition on here for 200 bucks. I would post up a WTB if that's in the books for you guys. I'm sure we could get a gang of Mazda folks together to help you guys swap it.
