The Official Who's Working on Christmas Thread

Fiance' has to work Christmas Day 7am to 7pm, unit secretary at a hospital, so the 3 kiddos we have between us (that all still believe in Santa) will be going to bed early on the 24th so they can get up at 5 on Christmas Day. As a Firefighter, I've had to work plenty of Christmas Days...and Christmas is a very busy day in the fire srvice, unfortunately.

I'm not working but I have in the past. Some people need to work. Others like kymerik have a good reason to go in and get something done, especially if there's nothing else going on. Personally, in my business (Int'l Logistics) every Holiday, no matter where it is in the world, is just a PITA to me :)

Plus, don't forget not everyone is Christian and living in this country allows them to practice their beliefs as non-Christians without persecution - in theory, anyway.

I'm working today and Christmas...6:30am-6:30pm. I'm going to visit my family tomorrow night after work. I won't get to my parents' house until around 9pm on Christmas night, so we're just going to celebrate on the 26th. I'm not a religious person and my family generally does just basic gifts for each other, so the actual day we celebrate isn't all that important. It'll be nice just to see them, have a good dinner, and enjoy each others' company.

But in the mean time...I'm making my living answering 911 calls for all the people who are having their worst Christmas ever. It's kinda depressing on the holidays just for that reason, but someone's gotta do it.

I'm actually a little bummed that I have to be at work at 6:30am on New Years Day...
