**The Official 2010 World Cup Thread**

The 2010 FIFA World Cup will be the 19th FIFA World Cup, an international tournament for football, that is scheduled to take place between 11 June and 11 July 2010 in South Africa. It will be the first time that the tournament has been hosted by a nation in the Confederation of African Football.

Current nations qualified (guaranteed) to play next summer (I will try and update this as frequently as possible):
SOUTH AFRICA (host nation)
JAPAN
AUSTRALIA
S. KOREA
NETHERLANDS
N. KOREA

Anyway, yes, I can imagine they will both qualify. I won't update the list until the official word gets released though.

The qualifiers have been pretty good games so far! Hopefully SA is as much fun as Germany was in 2006 (I was there for a month and a half).

w00t! Only one year away! Man, I can't believe how fast three years have gone by. Let's hope for a better showing from the U.S. (next week's match against Spain should be interesting). I also want to see even better performances from the lesser nations like S. Africa and Australia (who did pretty well back in '06).

As for my *predicted* Confed. Cup (current tournament) final...it will be Brazil vs. Spain (Brazil being the winner).

Because all my friends keep giving me s*** about it and because I hate the american soccer team. I think they all suck at soccer and spain basically gave it to them. I hope Brazil beats the living tar out of them unless brazil decides to give it to south africa tomorrow.
