The message app stopped working in my '14

So this morning I received a text, and got the prompt on my screen to download it, but when it was complete it wouldn't read out like it normally does. When I got to work, I played with it a bit more - turned off the car and back on, etc. If I push the name, or the icon to read the message, neither work. The text won't display, nor will the car read the message out loud. It appears to be trying - in that the icon does change to an 'x" like it normally does when the car is reading the message, but nothing occurs. If I have the radio on, it keeps playing - there is no change to the audio how there normally would be when it starts to read the message.

I took a short video of it this morning to illustrate the problem:

This is kind of frustrating. I guess I could delete my phone, and have it re-download everything, but this seems odd at the very least. All other features (bluetooth audio and calls, pandora, etc) seem to work with no issues.

Galaxy S3 - there have been no problems with the messaging app till now.

for grins, try rebooting your phone and see if the message gets redownloaded and if it's read then

As an update - I deleted my phone from the headunit, and then re-added it (had to re-download the phonebook, reset the speed dial, etc). The messages work correctly again after this. Kind of annoying, but not a deal breaker.

I have had to delete the S2 a couple of times from the system in order to just get the phone to work right. Messaging doesn't seem to work with the S2.

FYI if you close your email app you will receive emails. Make sure you do not close your message app. This works with the iPhone 4, 4s, and 5.

Have you actually tried this on the CX-5?

I had mine connected with Notifications turned on, the car would tell me that there is a message, but if I would press download nothing happens. Did I miss a step or are you assuming this works based on another vehicle?

Yes it works flawlessly on my 3 so I am optimistic. My wife and I just bought a grand touring yesterday so today I am going to pair my iPhone 5 and test it out... Stay tuned.

Change the channel! Mazda does not support the iPhone for text and email according to their support site. Hopefully they will release new software soon. Disappointed

Mine's a Windows Phone (HD7) and there was once when it asked me to download the message and read it out loud for me. But then it doesn't seem to work anymore... haven't explored it so not sure if it's a setting issue or something else.
