the less i know

the more i know about the MS3 and mods , the less i know. We dont have a dealer close by and their arent many around. My mods are: CAI,RP,inserts and shifer bushings. I like to add a TMIC and HKS exhaust. I can only do one for now. From what im reading, if the TMIC is done, i need a standback or the car will have boost cut. And if i put the exhast on first, no real gains there other then sound. (BTW: im a newbie and we newbies are here to learn what took some of you months to do.) Am i correct on this?

This is why I've pretty much stopped with power mods after CAI and BPV (that and I've got enough power for a street-driven wrong-wheel-drive car already). As cars become more and more complex, the days of slapping on headers and calling it a day are dying. We have ECUs fighting mods by cutting boost or throwing off A/F ratios... it's gotten to the point where you need mods to support mods, only to create a powerful car that is still traction-limited.

what he said. have you looked at the cobb accessport? For the money, its around the price you are looking to spend. Also do some research as to what maps you can run on your car with the mods you have.

listen to what this man is saying, he is a sage & he speaks the truth. i couldn't agree more on this issue. (yes)(2thumbs)

I too agree with Kain, but for that LITTLE bit more a test pipe is not a bad idea its pretty cheap, easy to install and remove...

I am planning on Intake, Test Pipe(Installed), Shifter Bushings, Short Shifter, maybe an accessport, if I get the top mount, and then all suspension and rims...should be plenty fast...

Man, two times today that we agree on something Kain, wth is going on? I hate all of this ECU crap trying to do things it thinks is good for the car and whatever. We need computers now to make our intakes and exhausts work, where before you would just slap it on, and take the big block 4 speed to the track and see the difference. I'm buying a new car next year, and it's probably going to be the 370z, and i won't touch that thing except maybe a K&N drop in. I would like to buy a 5.0 mustang and supercharge it, have that car as my fun mod car.

On a side not, anybody here know of someone selling thier 5.0?

it was my impression that changing the TMIC was not that big a deal concerning boost or fuel cut, untill it was added with a downpipe? changing the TMIC opened up the restiction on the stock one and cooled the air down alittle bit, but the dp is the one that changes all of AFRs and what not?

I have been reading a lot on a couple of different forums, no first hand experience though.
I was actually looking to add the TMIC. then called it done with mods except for springs and whells and DH!
