HELLO ALL,

tHIS IS NOT ABOUT THE CLEAR MARKERS. HAS ANYBODY WIRED IN OR REWIRED THE DRIVING LIGHT TO BLINK LIKE A TURN SIGNAL WHEN YOU HAVE THE TURN SIGNAL ON.

sINCE i HAVE A PROTEGE5 WITHOUT THE SIDEMARKERS LIKE THE 2002.5 AND 2003. i THINK IT WOULD BE COOL TO DO THIS. i WILL FIGURE IT OUT. iF SOMEONE DID THIS ALREADY PLEASE GIVE ME SOME INFO.

THANKS

Yes and then some.

On amber lens on bumper, strip back pvc wiring cover and cut black wire about two inches. Tap socket side black wire with additional wire entended to back of headlight housing where parking light socket is and tap to green with white wire.

Repeat for both headlights.

Provides for floating ground and looks cool!

Couple of things to add to that.

If you detach BOTH wires off of the bumper light, and wire one to each of the green wires on the front parking light, they will do pretty cool things (I'll get to that in a sec).

On the passenger side, near the actualy corner of the bumper, the power light to the bumper light comes to a part where 3 wires are soldered/crimped together. This is the best place to snip the wire (I don't know about the driver side)

Also, if you go to Radio Shack, and pick up phone wire crimps (There are butt end connectors and vampire tap connectors, I got one box of each) you can use these to tap your bumper light wires into the signal light wires without having to strip/solder anything. And they are weatherproof as well.

With all the lights off, the front, bumper, and rear lights all blink at the same time

With the lights on, the front and rear lights blink alternately with the bumper light (my favorite)

Cannot wait for it to warm up here in maryland to do that. Getting snow tonight into tomorrow. Its the green with white wire correct. Have you blown any fuses. Just wanted to ask.

Done the similar with my old Saturn and it never blew any fuses after almost two years of usage.

So it shouldnt really blow any on the P5s.

btw cant wait for the snow (Northern Virginia here)

no blown fuses. do what I had said. there is no need to run an additional wire to the other green wire. if you did, it would work as it is just a parallel wire that is the same wire (recolored) in the wire loom in the engine bay.

DAMN! This sounds cool to do, but I have ZERO knowledge of automotive electrical systems(or any electrical systems, for that matter).

Any one in the Bay Area done anything like this, and if so, wanna do it for my car? I can reimburse with $, drink, smoke, or whatever floats your boat!

For newbies to electrical stuff, here is a simple helper:

Hope this helps.

I know engines and turbos.

But you tech guys know electric.

Thanks for all your help.

Kicks ass

Whats the black wire with the X for and what does it tap into???

The black wire is the ground, I'm guessing. The "X" is a cut wire. You'll just wrap the end with electrical tape and let it hang.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi,

2 Questions:

1.) How can I access the two wires connected to the bumper light?
2.) I know that there are two wires connected to the bumper light (one black and one green), and there are two green wires connected to the front signal light (both green). If I'm gonna connect them, which green should the black wire (from bumper) connect to? and which green should the green wire (from bumper) connect to?

thats what i was wondering too..............this is what i think: from the bumper light, u have the black and green wire. u dont' touch the green wire from the bumper just cut teh black and connect it to the green from teh turnsignal(up by teh headlight) but thats where i see a problem.......which green wire do i connect the black one too?
