Ok I know this topic has been discussed endlessly but i havent found any real answers in the search or from AWR. So humor me. I have been working on the clunk on my p5 since i got my AWR sway bar. Initially I thought the endlinks were moving sideways thereby hitting the sway bar mount or strut mount. So I put rubber bushings on each side. The clunk is still there. Then I heard that if u put teflon tape on the bar or a small piece of metal or plastic between the bushing and mount it would take care of the clunk. Well this didnt work cause it only addressed the possibility that the bushings were worn or too large in diameter. Not the case. Then i found that the left endlink...the predominant side of the clunk, was touching the sway bar mounting slider as opposed to sitting freely on the bolt. I fixed this. For a couple of days it seemed fine but its back. I keep thinking that it is hitting the control arm since it only happens when there is a bump on either right or left side...i e pothole...but not when both struts compress. I have discussed this problem in depth with tony @ AWR and he has talked about a rubber O-ring for the rod ends...but i wasnt sure what he meant...the endlink rods or the control arm rods...and how this would actually work. Some say it is in the endlink but i cant see how since they are all stiff with no play? Please help before i go insane...currently i am hoping on just soundproofing the rear so i dont here it but i would like to solve this once and for all anyway.
