I like it! Believe it or not I was also considering an impreza wagon when I got my 2. The current models are rated at 36mpg hwy IIRC, though browsing the forums proved that rating to be quite optimistic. The 2 feels absolutely horrible off-road to me. I was spoiled by having three subarus in a row as daily drivers.

the 2 is fun offroad hehe

even on stock wheels its so much fun to toss around it slides pretty well without loosing control.

It feels like a rally car :D Now, the RX-7 off road? No thanks.

What Mazda really needs to do is put AWD and a turbo in the 2, and then call it the "Mazda2 GTX." (Look up the 323 GTX if you don't know what that's all about.)

Then they need to put a 2 in WRC, especially now that the Fiesta is leaving.

I doubt Mazda would ever back an 2 in the WRC for whatever reason. A 2GTX would be awesome though, somewhere around 200hp? Yes please.

I'm going to agree that the 2 is tons of fun to drive offroad. Heck, it's tons of fun to throw around in the snow as well.

Are we all talking about the same car? To me it just does not feel up to the the task on anything larger than small ruts. Maybe it just needs some beefy inverted dampers.

They already do for the Demio in Japan. It uses their "e-4WD" system which uses a battery pack and electric motor to power the rear wheels for extra traction. They offer the same system in the 3 (Axela) as well; cars equipped that way are sold mostly in northern Japan where they get insane amounts of snow.

the ARC has the extreme2 which is fantasticcccc. i dont really like the wrc but i like other rallies.
