That PATHETIC little horn!!

I'll just have to stop being lazy and install the electronic air horn from my old car into the MSP. It's the kind that cop cars & ambulances have...I'm allowed to have it as an EMT (along with warning lights).

Eventually I'm gonna get one of those horns that play little songs... anyone know if those are legal?

I agree they suck. I want to change mine out too.

Dr. Sound, what's this dudes horn sound like?

It makes animal sounds and plays the ice cream truck theme
(rofl)

I, too, am considering replacing my horn. I just picked up my car 2 days ago and already I am looking for a new horn. Given that most manufacturers don't include a clip of the sound each horn makes, I did a little work to try and emulate what it would sound like.

I downloaded the NCH Tone Generator (http://www.nch.com.au/tonegen/index.html)

and plugged in some of the tones listed on the Fiamm web page (http://www.fiamm.com/en/2/prod.php/5).
Setting the Tone to Constant, Sawtooth, and Mono (for single freq horns) or Stereo for two tone horns, I was able to emulate what the horn might sound like.

I am attaching a zip file for those folks who may not want to go through the work to plug in all the numbers. There are several waves files in there. Each is 300ms in duration. The filename lists the frequency that of the tone.

hope this helps people who are looking for a particular sound....

I replaced mine with a Fiamm Air horn (dual tone). Works very nicely. Go to Oriley's/HiLo and pick one up. about $30.

Replace it w/ a train horn, a common thing down here in trucks at least. That's if you can find room. Freakin huge! Super Freakin LOUD!!

I hate the sound of the horn, it's gay. I was thinking about taking the horn out of a 94 + mustang at the junkyard. I didn't mind the sound of my 98 Mustang horn.

actually, if you have the right equipment, you could install a train horn, but do understand it breaks like every sound pollution law possible for an automobile.
