Tein S-tech springs????

Hmmm, maybe it's a P5 specific thing then. But I have yet to hear any noise coming from the rear of my car. The exception being the infamous swaybar clunk every now and then.

Can someone rate the stiffness from most to least? On a MSP struts possibily..
I think it goes like this..

1. H&R <-- Most stiff
2. Eibach
3. Tein

I just saw the drop on the H&R (1.3'). They Look JUST like Razor's drop on a 17' (wheel gap wise) :wtf:

here is what the eibach sportline springs look like on an msp. The drop looks the same as the Tein, but I think the eibachs are a little more stiff. The eibachs are not as stiff as the racing beat springs that came with the msp, but I have not lost any of the famous msp handling, since putting on the eibach sportlines.

Sportline is the racing one right? with lower drop? Compare to Pro-Kit, they don't have the same stiffness right?

I've sat in the MSP racing beat spring, I thought they were acceptable. Thus, anything less stiffer than the MSP RB springs are ok for me...
I'm pretty much narrow down to Eibach or Tein, leaning towards Tein because someone said about Eibach is progressive springs so they have rollback or osmething when you finish a turn.

the sportline springs are the racing which lower it more than the pro-kit. I'm not sure if the pro-kit and sportline have the same stiffness. I'm not sure what you mean by rollback, but I think that the sportline springs have the same cornering feel as what the racing beats had.

I just received my TEIN springs I purchased on Ebay for $135 + $30 S&H. I will be installing them today.

What's the advantage of Progressive springs (Eibach), and non-progressive springs (Tein)? I remember reading somewhere someone mentioned about Progressive springs are better than non.

What would be a better spring to go with on a MSP (Tokico blue) struts? This is for like occastionally mtn road drive. I was reading MackDaddy's Post about Eibach + MSP struts will end of raising it a bit on P5? wtf?

Lastly, can someone confirm this? I've seen alot of people saying Tein springs are produced in Taiwan, thus it doesn't really have very godo quality compare to Eibach.. -_-

I dont know about Tiawan My box said made in Japan. I love my Teins the ride is awesome.

Also I dont have a right rear noise, So I guess I can consider myself lucky.

Guys,

Here is something to think about, Now from what i understand about springs/struts/suspension in general, is that you cant just go out and buy springs, put them on stock struts and expect to get the full quality of them. you have to remember what the struts do, they control the expansion speed and contraction speed of the springs. so if your taking springs and throwing them on stock struts your really not getting the full effect, and getting a miss conception of how the springs really perform. so if you take a harder spring and put it on stock struts that arent designed for it your going to get bouncy/wavy ride, because the spring will bounce you all over the place, because the strut isnt strong enough or designed to handle the harder spring, and its not controling the contraction and expansion of the spring correctly. I dont know just my .02 cents. I wish there was a H&R CUP Kit for our cars like they have out for VW's thats a great kit, you get H&R Springs, and H&R Struts already put together and sent to you. Plus they were developed to work together and for eachother so the quality is top knotch! I havent found a kit so far so if anyone knows of one please let me know!

so wheres a good cheap place to buy the tein s-tech springs new but not off ebay?

you can go racing beat springs and struts. tokico released their illuminas, but no retailer has them yet. i think they even have the blues out now, too. but again, no one has them.

the protege struts are valved higher than the average corolla or civic. the struts lowered by eibachs or h&r's will provide you with a nice ride. mackdaddy had the mazdaspeed struts on his car with eibachs and hated the ride. it got too rough for him. he switched back to stock.

bottom line, if you autox your car, or track it, then upgraded struts will be beneficial. if you are a commuter who has the occasional canyon run, the stock struts will be fine. the drop is slight enough that it's equivalent to having three people in the back seat with eibachs or h&r's. the ride quality is not at all bumpy or wavy or uncomfortable by any means.
