Taxi anyone

It pops off, all you have to do is get under it w/a thin flat object(dont use a flat-head, you might scuff the dash). Just be carefull not to yank it out you kind of have to wiggle it out alittle bit. Thanks!

yeah thats what i thought... b/c its a part of the WHOLE DASH... that sucks... By the way... check ur PM's

I painted it myself. Duplicolor high temp paint. You want high temp paint because plastic expands/contracts. I also recommend the duplicolor high gloss clear coat.

i like the yellow (except for the door handle), very different.

guage cluster is easy...

the screws are pretty straight forward

dont remember exactly.. but... 2 on top to start with (right zoompr5man??) and one on bottom... or is it other way around?? anyway.. you'll see them.. they are completely obvious... then you take off the brackets of the clear plastic and disconnect it from the actualy cluster...
then the "outline" of the guages (plastic piece) comes right out...

I have a quick shot of it in my avatar... white outside and the inside outline is blue.. same blue as the door panels in my avatar ;)

i like the yellow ;) I did the same in blue.. cept i went a little further with it...

here... http://photos.yahoo.com/protege01mp3/

theres a few shots there... only thing though.. i used vinyl paint instead of high temp paint.. and it didnt wanna stick to the plastic pieces (like the door handle)... imma try re doing it with the high temp paint just so it is a little more solid and stable and i dont worry about it as much

edit -- and just for reference.. the vinyl paint works AMAZING.. i cant stress enough.. AMAZING!! it keeps the "grooves" or "grain" of the vinyl PERFECTLY... it seriously looks like it was dyed not painted... people ask me who did the dye job all the time... you can even press on it and flex it and the paint doesnt flake or chip.. its amazing... -- /edit

Thanks for the tip on the vinyl paint. I'm looking to do my columns when the weather gets warmer[ITS FREEEEEEZIN' HERE IN NJ!!!] As far as the guage trim goes.....two screws on top then pull it out gently....2 screws under the cluster and one on top. When u can pull the cluster out alittle you will see little plastic hinges on the side of the cluster guage(it will be clear plastic, just push it in to unhook it and push it through...you'll see what i mean). Then when you have the plastic off, remove the bezel and paint away! I'll post pics on "how to" l8r for all those interested.

Looks good. I love the rims, that color look great on yellow. I think I may steal your yellow surround thing.

I'll be posting how to's for taking off the door handles and taking them apart/putting them back together, taking off door panels & taking off columns & painting them.

oh.. i'll PM you about this in a min.. but zoom... HOW DO YOU GET THE TWO PIECES OF THE HANDLE APART!!! AHHH that was so frustrating.. i had to use masking tape.... i think that is also a HUGE part of the reason the paint didnt stay well on the handles.. i couldnt really prep, and i was trying to mask painted areas.. it was whack... anyway.. check your PM

vinyl paint huh? Where did you get it? I paint a lot of stuff in my car...Took alot of time and was very careful..Now a bunch of the s*** is starting to chip! Really boils me...I wanna redo those pieces...and then do the door handles...I'd love to use that vinyl paint so I don't have to go through this again...

Motegi MR7 in gunmetal. I paid $500+shipping for all 4 rims off ebay. You can chose the rims you want on www.motegiracing.com. I have a 40+ offset, MAKE SURE YOU GET RIMS @ A 43+ OR 45+ OFFSET!! I had to roll back the inside of my fender because of my drop the fender was hitting my rim.

Love the ride....however

I love the car...looks killer. I had a silver on with black wheels and it was the s***. Anyhow, the only thing you need to consider is removing the neuspeed sticker from the rear windows. Everybody knows that Neuspeed makes stuff for Honda/VW only...so no mazda should wear that. You should rock Tri-Point stickers or better yet, rock Corksport stickers, they look good!
