Talking to Lawyer

I've absolutely had enough!!!!!!!!!!!

My car has been in the shop 6 times to deal with different squeaks, klunks ect.

I've contacted a lawyer and I'm goin after Mazda and my dealer. It is BS, sure the car drives great, but how am I supposed to sell the damn thing when it sounds like an old bed.

The POS wasn't cheap, at least not for me, I don't even really own the thing, my bank does. I'm just ranting, but it's frustraiting there are so many sweet cars that won't cause all these problems. And my dealer doesn't understand that I work, and every time I go over there it a pain in the ass.

I'll keep people updated if there is interest

no offence dude, but we've all had tro deal with the same s***.
I don't think our cars having squeaky/clunky bushings and lame ass head units qualifies it for a lemon.
I wish you luck, and like Girth said, keep us posted.

No offense dude, but if the car still sounds like a 17th century carriage, after 5-6-7 or more repair attempts, it's a ******* lemon.

i think it's only considered a lemon if the dealer tries to repair one specific thing multiple times but cannot fix it. also, i'm pretty sure the problem(s) needs to make the car undriveable. i dunno... i've had my car in the dealership numerous times for different things; none of which affected the driveability of the car, just minor annoyances. i could be wrong though. :-\ ...and all cars have their own issues. no car is perfect.

You're correct.

I think you should buy a VW, then next month you can come back to Mazda fully content.

Only in some States. My car has been in for the same complaints about 27 times. Mazda won't do anything about it. Have fun with wasting all your time pursuing this. My wife works for a firm and is taking the Bar in three months (specializing in consumer law), and we both agree that it is a waste of time. Just fix the thing and enjoy it. That is what I do now. Life is much better when you don't rely on Mazda. I won't buy another, ever.

I had so many problems from small to large with my MSP that I traded in on an 04 WRX, taking a huge kick in the pants financially, but I wanted a car that was reliable. The MSP is a great car, in some ways better than the WRX but the one thing is that I dont have any problems with the Subaru and I had my first "issue" with the MSP 10 days after purchase. I think Mazda should have put more thought and planning and even charging a few more bucks to make a solid product instead of the problem plagued MSP that is.

what did you have it in for 27 times?

why? to own a clunking thing straight from the factory? i have less problems with my turbod 5 and ive jacked up so many things on it...which is understandable...when you people drive yours off the lot, you immediately have problems.

ok, so some dont. the vast majority do. anyone who comes here before buying the msp and still buys it after doing research is a fool imo. hit or miss whether you have an unreliable peice of s***, a mediocre slow car, or a reliable kick ass car. for 15k or more thats too much of a gamble.

No MSP has been unreliable. If you count a couple of blown motors unreliable you need to open your eyes. Every known problem has been met with some sort of fix on a MSP. I have not had one MSP with a real problem. You people are stupid to think of a MSP as unreliable. Mazda gave us one of the most amazing suspensions aval. today. To get this suspension there are trade offs, as with anything. If you people think a clunking noise in the rear suspension, or a creaking noise when cold in the front suspension is the most horrible thing in the world then think about what a MSP would be with a unleaded proteges suspension.

you dont consider the peopel that have stock cars that the lsd or motor or other major parts crap out to be unreliable? or does that happen on most cars? (not being a smart ass, i dont follow any consumer reports s***)

We have had what... 15 motors blow? How many have been warrantied? I use how many have been warrianted to determine for myself how unreliable it is. I agree some stronger rods would have been nice, but you can't have it all. LSD's, yes there is a known problem with them in which an updated part has been made. Which further proves my point.

(p.s. I don't care why you think your motor should have been warrantied when it wasn't, thats a whole nother discussion.)

The Lemon Law is different for different states. In Michigan, the car has to have been in the shop for a major problem 4 times, or in the shop for 30 days total. There's also all these little clauses about "loss of value to the consumer" and such.

I've been through two bad turbos, a bad steering pump, the clunk, front suspension, pedals fell apart in the first two months, shifter fell apart soon after, ECU flash, two bad stereos, and all kinds of pieces falling off on the inside. Now I have a boost leak, random stalling, the clunk is back, and my dealer pretty much ignores me now.

IMO, the car has lost all of it's value to me. I could understand if I drove like an ass all the time, but I dont rag on the car what-so-ever. I've lost all enjoyment driving the thing because I feel like it's going to fall apart at any minute. I recently went through all of my service receipts and I'm getting ready to approach them about a buy back.

i guess i am slightly biased when i see the rest of us 3rd gen owners with little or no problems AT ALL. almost none, with a few execptions like the moron who tried to purposely shift into reverse everytime he got a new tranny and wondered why the dealer told him to **** off.

but msps got small to large probs...motor, lsd, headunit, clunk, sub, alarm, plstic pieces coming off, leaks, turbos, etc. granted there are more parts to GO wrong, but DAMN~
