Taking the plunge...

errr... no not much, just making a point that I think it was a good choice on her part to weld it now before she gets her self in a bad situaton. sorry i guess you cant tell how much it sucks to be with out a car or unpleasently cold it was when doing this. point being it could have been avoided by lowering compresion in the nice warm summer(kiss)

Oh no..I've been there replacing a tranny in the 10 degree winter, as well as replacing a heater core in a fox mustang in the dead of winter....Its about an 8 hour job...so yeah....I understand...I just wanted to make sure I didnt miss something.

yeah i was REAL lucky to have a nice shop with tranny jacks to do this with. i dont know how you all manage without, takes some balls man, that tranny is heavy!!

the next time you take the tranny out it will only take half the time. i swear i can do msp tranny jobs in my sleep now lol hope you like the welded lsd. I did not weld mine when it broke i just got the revised lsd from mazda. i take it your warranty is gone so you rewelded your tochigi rather then get the newer orsen style from mazda?

I went one better and had the revised one welded before it went in as my warranty replacment. Those can break too. Then I found the tranny and Quaife, so the other is a backup that can be swapped in if I need to rebuild this tranny for some reason.
