Have you tried using your front windshield defroster. I believe it's the forward sensor lens up at the top of the windshield that gets "fogged" with condensation and causes the error.
It's been better for me after using rainX on the glass around the sensors for helping to keep the area clean.
That's the thing. When it happens it's nonsense. It's always at night for me, but it'll be a perfectly clear night and the damn thing will pop on and my automatic headlights disable and blind the people coming from the other way. If I could at least defend it because of heavy rain, or snow, or fog or something. And then the worst part is it'll sometimes stay on for 30 minutes or more. I don't know how frequently it tries to reset itself, but it's not enough. And maybe there is something wrong with mine specifically. Guess I could reach out to the dealer though just passed 38k so I probably didn't time that very well. lol. Though I did buy a technology extended warranty which might cover problems.Yep. It happens. Very random event on our 21.
It might because I'm sick of my headlights popping on bright and my smart car features suddenly telling me they are disabled and it flashing back and forth on my digital screen. In the last week it's happened 3 times and it sometimes lasts my entire 45 minute commute home. And this weekend on Saturday on a 3 hour drive in LIGHT to moderate rain it lasted nearly 2 hours of the 3. It's really pretty unforgivable to me they haven't sorted this out because these features have been available for the better part of the last 7 years or so in cars now and at least my familiarity with Toyota and Hyundai lead me to believe that it's not necessary to be this bad. I'm not noticing it on my wife's Santa Fe. Of course hers also inexplicably starts giving potential "icy conditions" warnings when it hits 40 degrees outside which. Well.. maybe water freezes in Korea at 40 degrees? I don't think so but who knows. And her Santa Fe also burns oil which my Mazda's have never really done. So there is that. This one issue would make you switch makes?
I still feel like it could be a high humidity in the cabin. Do you have the AC on? Do you have any problems with the AC system?on a 3 hour drive in LIGHT to moderate rain it lasted nearly 2 hours of the 3.
I don't feel like this is a Mazda in general problem (to the level you experience in your car) . My 2019 signature works as it should most of the time. Only occasionally when it's cold until I get some heat and ac going to defrost the windshield and sometimes driving into direct low sun or dirty windshield. I can pretty much predict when it will happen. It's really pretty unforgivable to me they haven't sorted this out because these features have been available for the better part of the last 7 years or so in cars now
I don't think so. I did buy it very gently used from a Toyota dealer because I got a far better deal on it than through a Mazda dealer. It's a 2022 Premium trim, but it was one of the ones with the Bose system pulled and the auto liftgate pulled due to the chip shortage (don't care about the liftgate but at times I wish I had just stuck with pushing for the Bose). Side note sometimes I feel like the 2014 Mazda6 Touring without Bose that was mine and now my kids inexplicably sounds better than the mid-level audio system in my 2022 CX-5. I purchased my CX-5 in July 2024 with 15,200 miles on it and a completely clean carfax. I didn't notice it happen at first, but I also bought it in July!. Then it got bad for a while. But then it didn't seem to happen again for a long time. . When I purchased it I didn't buy an extended warranty on the drivetrain because (knock on wood) Mazda's 2.5L SkyActiv as far as I can tell is about as bulletproof as they come. I did purchase an extended warranty on the Computer/Safety/Module systems on the car. So I should be covered on something like this if it does have a problem.@goksucats Has the windshield ever been replaced? If bought used does the car have the original Mazda windshield? Asking because sensors must be recalibrated when the windshield is replaced.
